6MT and LC

I just watched the LC vid posted by skierman64. Excellent vid but now I feel like a confused Democrat Superdelegate. It is clear that M-DCT is very user friendly and CONSISTENT. I have two questions:

1. Could a reasonably good 6MT driver be CONSISTENTLY within 0.2 - 0.3 secs to 60 (for example) of the M-DCT times? Is this asking too much of a driver?

2. Are there any 6MT owners that NOW regret not getting the M-DCT?

I've mostly driven MTs and currently drive a 6MT 330Ci but not sure which to order for the M3.

A good 6MT driver will be closer than 0.2-0.3 seconds closer in my opinion.

Hence the dilemma. I don't think there are any DCT owners who regret getting DCT but I feel there may be a few 6MT that wished they ordered DCT.

It is possible that a 6MT can be launched as effectively as a DCT car. But, the closer gear ratios and the reduced interruption in forward motion for the DCT car will give it an advantage from there. I really don't think you'd feel a .2 second difference in acceleration though. LC is a cool feature, but there are other things to consider outside of the straight line stuff when deciding between the transmissions.

There are 6MT and DCT guide threads under the transmission section of technical topics. Will give you a good view of the opinions of the respective owners.
