Should I sell M3 for 1M....??

I've been owning E92 M3 Alpine White Comp pack manual with no options. It has 27,000 miles on it. Before M3, I had 128i which didn't have power like M3 does, but it was light and nimble. I had so much fun in that car. I miss that feeling since M3 is heavy and big I feel like. I do daily 2013 sedan STI, so M3 has been weekend car mostly and 1M will be if I get one. Now, what should I do....??

Yes 1M is a future collectors car. I would get a 1M if I could

What would be the mileage on 1M that will make it worth of keeping as a collectible?

I really like both and have had both. Imo the 1m is a more fun street car

Definitely is and feels lighter. Benefits are turn in, braking and steering

I recommend at least driving one

1M for sure! I would trade my m3 for one in a heartbeat, but I'm not willing to pay the premium for one...

As low as you can possibly afford. If you want it to be a collectible, don't drive it too much. If you want to enjoy it without thinking twice, get one with higher (relatively) miles to avoid paying a premium for low miles since you're gonna put miles on her anyway.

I say go for it if the price delta is worth it to you. I love 1M's for their rarity and fun factor. I only remember seeing one on the road, but numerous e90/92s.

What is the premium today between a similar mileage 2011 e92 m3 and 1M? $25k?

Dump the STI and daily the M3. Then get a dedicated sports car for weekends.

For the price an M2 is better in every single way.

Around $20k given that M3 is manual and heavily sought optioned car. I think that $20k difference is something I can take since I know 1M is way more rarer than E92 M3.

I thought about getting M2, but I feel like I will be switching to other car real quick. I like 1M's look department and exclusivity as opposed to M2.

why not dump the STI and have two M cars? Don't be afraid of miles.. more miles and memories in a great M3 > letting someone else have those memories as they drive the car you sold them.

Yeah, I thought about dallying M3 and get 981 GT4 for weekend car too or daily M3 and make the 1M weekend car since it will hold value with mileage is kept low.

If it were me... that's what I would do. The M3 is a phenomenal daily. I drive mine everyday and keep my 88 landcruiser in the garage as my "collector" since it's low mileage and mint. Enjoy the M3 and don't sell for a quick buck! (just my opinion )

I am kinda leaning toward buying 1M and dallying M3 now. It will be hard to make M3 daily though since I've been babying it........

Love it! you can always change your mind later... but I can't ever imagine babying a beautiful car so that someone else can enjoy it. I plan on keeping mine forever and drive it a lot.. one day, in many many years hopefully, I'm sure I'll put a new engine in to keep it going stronger than ever. No regrets that way!

I have put 30K miles on my M3 driving it daily for the past two years. It's an incredible daily driver, as well as trip car. But . . . I also have a 1985 911 for when the itch for light and nimble needs scratching.

Let me tell you, I am a huge 1m fan. Had one and loved it, never should have sold it.

But the gt4 is a way better weeekend car / sports car option. Especially if you plan any track time whatsoever. The 3.8 is one of my favorite sounding engines, and in mid engined form itís a hell of an experience.

Actually get the M2 CS coming out soon. Rare, exclusive and fast. Spec it with CCBs and 6MT. Carbon roof FTW.

E90 and 1M owner here. I echo the comments about making the M3 your daily. Aside from fuel economy, it plays the role perfectly! I daily mine year round in Minnesota.

The 1M is such a special car...I adore mine. But I also don't use her enough because of its potential for being collectible in the future. 6k miles on mine, 1,200 of them done during Euro delivery. I would absolutely encourage you to get one, but I agree with those that have said get one with a few miles (30-50k) and use it...all day over an M2 as well. I've had enough seat time in an N55 M2 to formulate that opinion. A 1M with those miles will hold whatever you pay for it as well; same can't be said for the M2. If you start getting into the upper $60s and $70s on a garage queen, other things come into the picture. I've had a 981 Spyder and can attest to the specialness of the 981 Spyder/GT4, for instance...albeit they'll be more.

I'm not a fan of turbo engines and would not trade an E9X car for either an 1M or M2.
Not even a 991.2 911 would persuade me.
The inherent turbo lag and diminished induction/exhaust sounds are a dealbreaker.
The E9X platform suffers from too much weight, that's about it but admittedly it shrinks at speed.
The hydraulic steering rack and raucous V8 are truly special.
Best to add to your stable but do not disturb the V8 beast!
