cchen9_ AW E92 Build Journal
New to the family, loved this car since it was announced and knew I would get one one day. Acquired a few weeks ago 2013 AW E92, DCT, ZCP, 27K miles.
Car has a few light mods, I wanted a completely stock one, but I did not mind what it had on it already. Tasteful stuff. I will update this thread as I upgrade the car and set it up for track. Coming from the Honda world My current track car, still very new, done about 5 track days, just SCCA fun. My RSX is equipped with a roots blower, I do not mind the whine. I/H/E, tuned, K24 swapped, meth injected. There is some cosmetic issues on the front bumper I am planning on getting fixed, will probably have the reflectors shaved at the same time. Harrop SC is in the future. Last edited by cchen9_; 04-04-2023 at 12:29 PM.. |

BPMSport tune cable/hardware came in today. Surprised at how long it takes to download/read the software on the car, about 35 mins. Is flashing any quicker? Using Hondata software on Honda ECUs is so quick lol. Waiting on Mike to send over the files I need, but so far everything seems to work with it. . . . Placed an order today for some test pipes. Going to try and mate them to my macht schnell pipes, since there are some HFCs welded onto them. No dealers will sell me just the front sections and shops aren't cutting them off for me... hopefully this works out. |

Damn great pickup! Love the extended fox red, and looks like you got some bonus tasteful mods!
Keep us updated on the progress!! Yeah the M3 tune/flashes take a while, but on my 335 using MHD it was 40secs each time through my android phone.

. . . Put a KN filter on. Not sure if I'll end up buying an intake for this car, everything I'm reading is that the factory one is so well designed. Cosmetically a carbon fiber one would look cool, but definitely not a priority at the moment. Trying to avoid spending (other than maintenance) on this car and just put $ away towards the Harrop. We'll see how that goes lol... eyeballing front lips at the moment |

Did some wrenching today in preparation for the test pipes delivery this afternoon. I got in some VRSF test pipes, just a cheap option I didn't want to spend much on this project. It's already a hassle as is. Trying to decat my macht schnell x-pipe that prev owner had cats welded to. I think it'll work out. Replacing all of the rusty exhaust hardware; they were a bitch to break loose, buying all stainless hardware and new gaskets. Pic below you can see how rusted this stuff was...
Pulled both front sections off, got to take a good look at the dct pan, not wet *woohoo* Lining the passenger side pipe up it looks like this will work out... thinking I'll just get them welded together. Not sure how much I trust the clamps they sent. |

Changed the route I'm going, just ended up cutting two sections of 2.5" straight pipe and will be clamping them down to the front section. Prob get them welded in the future. Much lower cost than the $300 I spent on test pipes. Waiting on my order from FCPeuro to arrive tmrw to finish it all up. |

Finished the cat delete today. Cut some straight pipes to length. They were cheap mild steel so I cerakoted them just for some extra protection.

Couple weeks ago visiting Atlanta had a good friend go over the whole car, knocked out most all of the swirls.
Forgot about the rice mod induction scoops I got too, put them on a few days before getting the car cleaned up. Probably will eventually paint these black or white, the red is kinda cool but also an eyesore sometimes to me. After car all cleaned up well I decided to take it out for the first and last track day in my area for 2019. Car felt great, definitely a different feel from my RSX. Sad it's the end of the season, really want to bring the car out again for some more seat time and more comfortable with the car. Took a little "scenery" shot of the car and Carolina Motorsporks Park while waiting on the first session to start Found the only other E9x M3 there, cool guy this one was VF supercharged |

Got em on. Running 275/35 and 295/35. Not sure how I'd like this color wheel but I think it works. Ignore the fresh rubber marks on the bumper I haven't cleaned it since the track lol
