My new M3 - photos & comment

More photos and a few comments to update my earlier post.

400 miles on the clock and I’m feeling very smug with my purchase. The car has many qualities but it is not a full time hooligan. I would have said that my old E46 M3 was refined enough for my needs but I’m not so sure now. The E92's smoother engine, suspension set to comfort etc. is welcome during a slow commute on poor roads with nowhere to go fast – exactly when the E46 was harder work. Faster driving may prove that I still miss rougher sides of the E46 but time will tell. I suspect that the new car will fill both roles for me – if your needs are a full time hardcore sports car then maybe wait for the CSL.

The engine is fantastic so far. Seats great for me. Not liking the thick steering wheel.

Lots of positive comments on the looks. I think the CF roof looks great with AW – looks / contrasts also helped by the privacy glass. Puddle lights look sexy at night.

Non-M sedans (..and possibly coupes) have them as well.

Not sure that the photos show the glass well but here are a couple anyway - fairly dark but not black.. I suspect it is similar to the tint that BMW use for other models.

LOVE it.

The badge placement looks awkward. They should have placed it here better, no?

Chris,

Looking at the brochure they have placed your M3 badge in the wrong place on the bootlid. It should line up above the number plate recess and the trailing edge of the 3 should meet the the upper arc of the recess line. If you check the rear shots in the brochure you'll see what I mean. Not a big deal but you may want to get them to remove it and refit another in the correct spot.

The car looks great, enjoy.

You saw that "ZuerstBMW" did a PS to show where he thinks the badge should be, didn't you. On the original pictures the badge sits on the right place.

Best regards, south
