Not to be a jerk, but are you running premium gas? I know gas in CA is supposedly pretty bad. Maybe time to change gas stations? How many miles do you have? New plugs may not be a bad idea, either.

here's a test: find a gas station that sells 100 octane race gas at the pump. fill up a tank and take it for a spin.

OP, I have the same exact problem you described and taped. Noise happens when engine warms up and in light acceleration below 2500rpm in 1st, 2nd and third gear. Sounds like a creaking/pinging noise coming from the front/middle of the car. I was afraid it would be detonation

I have been using the same gas station for years now, Chevron and only use 91 octane. Maybe its the winter blend? I ruled out transmission noice as I had mine replaced last year. Plugs were also changed by dealer around 20k miles ago.

I should try a fuel additive and see if the noise clears up. Techron maybe.

That would be an expensive tank, ~$120?

That's the carb dumping more fuel plus why is the car sneezing near the end of the vid.

Took it in a few weeks ago and foreman said it was slight knock right before designated ignition but not problematic enough to throw an error. He said the ECU was doing what it was meant to do which was change timing to adjust for the knock when it comes... I tried fuel cleaner and it seems to have helped a little but the "knocking" is still there sometimes.
