"0-60" Mag 2008 M3 Review by Tom Ford

Sorry for the quality. I have no scanner, so I took a picture. You can save it to your computer and zoom in if needed.

Some rehased things in here, seems to be a combination of things.
Interesting notes are that they say there are exhaust mods currently available and the price of $53,975.

$53,975? I'd do backflips if it came in at that price.

The interesting thing is that you would expect the standard "(est)" notation next to the dollar amount. Well I looked at the CLK63AMG page and the (est) was on that page but not the M3 page.

Probably just a typo or something they forgot. If any mag has news about a set in stone price it would probably make the cover or, at the very least, they'd make a big deal about it in the article.

Still, I HOPE it comes in around $55k; then a well equipped model is under $70k out the door most definitely

I feel this price is accurate because it's the same price that was posted when they announced the M3 several months ago from an auto magazine and then took it off.
Let's get our heads up and ready for the beast. I was considering the S5 if the M3 is more than $55k, but now forget about the S5.

The price was posted by whom, when "they" (again who is "they") announced the M3?

The only place I saw this price was a bad internet rumor that claimed to have the US base price and options list and they had this information waaaaaay to early to be legit. Unfortunately this did not stop it from get posted over and over on different forums. That number never was legitimate.

Also based on the sheer number of happy folks about this price posting herein I'd say the price is both too low and lower than what the actual number will be. Sorry shiny happy people - that number is way too low! I would not hold out any hope for it because you'll just be disappointed.

So we are to believe that BMW will price the new M3 only a couple of thousand more than the outgoing model.Anybody who believes this price i have some coastal property to sell you in Montana.
My estimate is $59,999 base then add $2,500 for DCT and say $8,000 in options, add tax and you will be looking at high $70 s for the way i want it.
Most dealers i have talked to in So-Cal tell me to expect high $70 s for my config.

Noone said anything about a couple thousand more. Low end of the price scale starts at $54-$55k, that is $5-$6k.
Furthermore, you are in So-Cal. Price will be higher. That is a no-brainer.

yeah, that was fast Eisenmann had exhaust already.

I remember my E46 exhaust was "really" heavy after pulling it out and swapping it with Borla.

Ya sometimes I don't think we really look at "out the door" price enough. Even if it does come in at $53-55k, you will be very hard pressed to actually pay that amount. I paid apprx $53,500 for my 335, out the door. And the base price was what? something like $38 or $39k? I mean after the calculator adds up options, tax (just like you said), and even little things like delivery charge...ect...it ends up being a far cry from 53-55k.
