Did you do any paint correction ? If so eight hours is a great timeframe from start to finish. Usually it take around 2 hours per panel from start to finish with wax. Either way great job

Can I ask, is Jet Black really a color to avoid? I've heard that multiple times on this forum, that it's too "soft" a color, but it just looks so incredible when a skilled detailer has done his work..... And would Jet Black be even more risky if I wanted to keep the car for a long time?

Jet black looks awesome when detailed but gets dirty quick! The parking structure at my work has so much dust that in one week i need to wash again!

I work on a construction site so the parking lot is gravel. Between the dust that produces and the seasonal pollen down in the south right now a weekly bath is a must. I feel your pain

The best way to maintain black paint like this is minimal touch car washes which help to prevent swirls.

IMO the best way is using a Pressure washer w/ Foam cannon, 2 bucket method, water de-ionizer/ filter, and a blower to dry the car off

I would say stay away from Jet Black - Just not worth it. Swirls up easier than any other color. Now, if you are the type that wants a car that looks great from 10 feet by all means go for it.
