Finally bit the bullet and added the AA Cat-Less X-Pipe to my AA Exhaust
Before- AA Signature Exhaust, Cat-Back Only
After-AA Cat-Less X-Pipe and Software. The software has a launch control function that doesn't allow you to rev past 5K rpms, they will remove that this week. It sounds amazing! It is a little more "Boomy" between 1500 and 2500, not question about it. I rode in a catless Dinan equiped car last week and, it is also more Boomy between 1500-2500 RPMs. It can't be avoided when you remove 4 cats from the car, I don't care what anyone else says about whatever system. I've had it on for 2 days, I went to Winn Dixie yesterday and a guy drove up behind me when I parked and said, "What the Hell did you do to the car to make it sound like that, sounds incredible!" He has an E46 M3 and couldn't believe the way the car sounds. Last edited by mike33176; 04-05-2010 at 03:29 PM.. |

I'm very happy with this set-up as well but I added the HFC's since the smell was too strong with the windows down. My wife hated it. HFC's took smell away and I didn't want the dealer to see the car without Cats. ALso my white bumper was turning yellow. Anyway, you need to have someone drive your car and hear it from the outside. The interior noise does not do it justice. Its really menacing when the car drives by at full throttle then brakes with a nice double clutch rev match on the downshift. I really have not heard any car that sounds like it.

Anyone wants a used axle back section let me know... got one for sale in perfect shape. OP - sounds awesome, I still love the AA sound, it's probably the most unique on the market....

Sounds good, but is there drone at 2,000 and 3,000 RPM? THAT'S the big question.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

After a couple thousand miles and it's all broken in, it's damn loud at that RPM range.

Mine turns yellow also but the brush free jet wash at my local garage (esse here in montreal) removes that. It takes a while to build up.
