A brand new DCT is $12k. Install is $3 if you go through a BMW dealership. I had it done at 160k miles at a BMW Dealership in SoCal.

Have BMW replace the whole thing. Most BMW dealerships aren't able to open up a DCT and make internal repairs, like replacing the pumps, etc. That is a shortcoming of BMW dealerships. Since they couldn't fix it properly, it is on them. The warranty company could also recover the money they wasted on the BMW dealership. That will scare the pi$$ out of them (BMW).

You should get a replacement DCT unit installed at a BMW indie shop that can handle it. You will likely have to do some DME and DCT software updates. Doubt it is a simple bolt in. Try Deans Bimmer (MPorium) in Texas for a good DCT Unit.

ThicF30 on youtube has a good BMW Indie Shop at Dynamic Auto Tune in NC...or you might have to go to Florida.

Good Luck,

Cheers

You should check and see if it has a fluid leak. These transmissions do many weird this when low on fluid.

Thanks for the tips! Living in Greenville, SC sucks with very limited enthusiast shops.
