Yes they don't sell on lots because there are very few that appreciate a focused car these days. They want an iPhone on rubber band tires. There is nothing special about a loaded car. If you like them. That is awesome!!!! But nothing special. They are a dime a dozen and the no hump dash is beautiful, clean and timeless.
I am not saying anything negative about the low option cars....just the fact that they are rare because no one ordered them and the ones for sale now sell very slow, meaning they are not desired by people with the money to buy one! The few that were ordered IMO was by someone wanting a NEW M3 as cheaply as they could buy one, not out of passion. If that was the case they would NEVER be for sale. Lets see yours!
Yeah. Even more sad that so many think like you. I see that a lot on M3 forums. If someone buys a no option car people think it's because they can't afford it.
If you say you don't like something about the m3, so many say. He probably can't afford it. You should do a search on can't afford on m3 forum and you will see a lot of this stuff. Really sad. Just for your enlightenment I gave up My Euro delivery discount and paid over MSRP to order a 1M with no options. The dealer had told me they were ordering loaded 1M and I could take it or leave it. I paid loaded price to get no option 1M. I'm sorry sir because we are both car guys but you are sorely misinformed. Harrison Ford has a 1940s biplane and it's not because he can't afford a Learjet. Tom Cruise has a 1940s P51 with no Nav. Not because he can't afford a personal jet with radar. Maybe someone wants the core attributes of the m3 at the lowest price point because they don't see value in the other stuff for what they want to do.
Sorry sir, I and many like me could afford a loaded M3 but it doesn't make sense to us.

I fully understand what you are saying, in your case! I can afford anything that I want, could buy a new Harley every year but don't want any of them. I instead have an as new 1958 FLH, 1965 FLH and a 1981 FXB.

Is this a pissing contest now?

This is simple.
M cars are great. Everyone has their own preference. To each their own. Enjoy what you've got and appreciate what others have. Done

Exactly. I didn't say I could afford anything! But I could afford a loaded m3. Cant afford Jessica Alba or a p51 mustang but M3 not an issue. I also have 2003 330i zhp because I like to more than new ZHP that was a supposed special edition. I would love a 1981 Scirocco S or 1984 GTI also.

Yes love the old bikes too. : )

No pissing contest here. It's a celebration of those that appreciate the less popular version of a great car that is getting greater as cars go turbo, fake sound etc. Please don't make it a pissing contest. That's not what it is.

That's the way I'd build it if I could go back in time. Maybe a DCT, just maybe.

Really nice! Your garage list is perfect too. (said from the standpoint of driving BMWs since 1973)

On the unicorn subject, 4-5 years ago when I was searching for a 2011 6MT E90 M3 with no sunroof, it took over a year to find one with low miles (15k) and condition that I'd consider buying, and I had to give up on color preference. Turns out there were only ~180 2011 E90 6MT with no sunroof imported, so I was hunting from an extremely small set of cars! It's been a great car, and I plan to keep it a very long time like I've done so far with my E39 M5.

Will play...

2010 E90 M3. Just hit 40k on chassis (NEW block installed @ 3k miles ago via dealer)
Still have 1.5 years left on warranty too!
SG - Fox Red interior - a slicktop - DCT
No tech, no NAV, no EDC, no M button, or no Comp.

I do have power seats (no heat), xenon/adaptive lights, mirror package and carbon cloth on the center console (I think these were options)

I added 359 wheels, eibach springs, MS spacers (15/12), Corsa, Lux 180's and 20% 3m tint.

The only thing it is missing....manual!!!
If it had a manual....it would be perfect.

Simple, functional and focused is beautiful to some of us. We get our highs from the sound, the fury and the handling. The rest is just a distraction and softening. Nice in the past you could spec them that way. You can't anymore. So that makes them special.
