leather seat dye
I have been researching dying a section of my driver's seat where my belt over the years has "stained" the beige novillo leather seat on my M3.
I have seen several old posts on this site but nobody really addressed what products they have had good luck with and have usually dealt with changing the color. I just want to match the color I have. When the car was almost new the dealer did under warranty dye the section of the seat in question which lasted until recently. I asked the dealer and they did not have any recommendations; they no longer do any leather repair or restoration. I have tried cleaning and restoring the leather and while the rest of the leather looks great after cleaning the "stained" area looks unchanged. I have found numerous web sites that sell dye products but none that are the exact match for my M3 beige novillo color. Any advice would be appreciated. |

I, too, have beige Novillo and have a few spots I'd like touched up. Mostly the driver side bolster. I think the previous owner was quite portly and used to rub his bum on it on every entry/exit. I've heard Leatherique has some dyes that match, but I have not looked into it. Also not sure how hard they are to apply with good results. Hopefully someone can chime in. |

This. Many of them have mobile services where they just come to your house and do it on the spot. Probably set you back under $100 assuming it's not too bad.

I had a gentlemen come out and fix my seat bolster which was cracked and heavily soiled from the previous owner. He matched the color and finish perfectly. At least in the case of this job, he didn't dye the leather, but rather sanded, filled and then painted the bolster. He then applied a urethane coating for durability. The only issue is he was a little sloppy and got paint on the seat threading, which I wasn't thrilled about. If you are a perfectionist, you may not be jazzed about the results as it won't return the seat to factory new condition. I knew I was going to buy new (used) seats anyway, so this was a stopgap measure.

Thanks for the advice.
I have emailed leatherique twice now, no response. I have the BMW code for the seat color, NCH3 which is novello leather bamboo beige. They do not have that particular code on their website. I contacted another vendor, World wide Upholstery that sent me a few BMW beige "swatches" but while one was close it did not really match. I found one website out of the US that does have a dye that would match the code but I am leery of ordering the product internationally. I guess I will keep searching! |

I have used colourlock to dye the side bolster on my buddy's dove grey e36 m3 and it came out great.
I would check them out to see if they have your color. The company also makes the leather care for swissvax leather kit. I used their leather care kit as part of my regular detailing regiment for years until I found out that Colourlock makes the kit for them and the colourlock branded kit is of course 1/2 the cost. You should also be posting in the Detail forum to get more input.

I am carefull getting in/out but still had some worn on the side bolster. Came out close as new and it seems the protection (Leather Finish, matt) really helps to keep it that way. Also bought their Alcohol Cleaner to ensure it was clean and dry prior application. Smallest bottles on all three, will keep me for ever. Good luck Edit: Quick snap on the result from the other days work. It wasn't crazy worn but some on top/side and quite a bit on the stitching. 15min work. Edit details by request. Bottles seems to have changed but this is my best guess: Colour "Walknappa black": https://www.furnitureclinic.co.uk/co...w-colour-chart. I remember it came out worrying darker then the seat but ended up perfect matched after the Leather Finish. Leather Finish (Matt): https://www.furnitureclinic.co.uk/leather-finish. Alcohol Cleaner: https://www.furnitureclinic.co.uk/alcohol-cleaner. I bought the Colour and Finish in 50ml size and have still most of it left, seems these are 250ml which will take you a 100 years. Check out Bespoke leather dye. It's a perfect color match.

I don't know, I found the paint that I had needed for the leather interior of my car. The color was dark red, so there was also a problem with the selection of paint. Look here https://leather-toolkits.com/reviews...s-for-leather/ There are a lot of paints and general information about the restoration of leather goods. Or, in extreme cases, contact a specialist.
