I always have to fill at least 9. Do you extract all of the oil from the filter housing too?

8.5 is about right, but it might be time to change that oil level sensor. I aim for 8.8 L and the next closest mark just under full.

I usually fill 8.5L also and wait until I get a reading and top up if needed.

LOL I was so mad at mine last week. Did oil change week before going to Hallett, spend two days at Hallett and on the way home get the "add one quart" bs. Drive around all week with it because I got too busy with work and finally on Friday add the tiny bit (maybe 1/8qt) left in the bottle I had from the last change.... now it reads full

My 56 OMP is big on me at 5'11" long torso 185-ish - lots of room for activities

As long as my boys have room for activities I'll be good. Don't want to have to align all of the goods to one side because the inseam is up the gooch.

My sub strap is of a kind and location that it doesn't matter how much room my clothes have, I always have to align everything just right or spend the outlap feeling like I'm getting a no lidocaine vasectomy

Just get a lightly used one at Race Image. Follow the measurement instructions exactly.

i have a question for those of you who have stripped their cars. i'm starting to get more rattles. i'm ok with it, but i would like to prevent it as much as possible. i'm not talking about road noise, i'm talking about wires swinging around and clicking on panels (at least that is what i perceive it to be).
i'm planning on going back and cleaning up the wiring and securing it. some of you have ultra simple interiors on these race builds, do you still get rattles? i'm ok with rock chips and road noise, but rattles tell me something is loose. has anyone eliminated that?

Buy Tessa Tape and wrap wires. Plus secure where you can

Or just get a louder exhaust and you won't hear the rattles

It's a big commitment to thin wires. The main harness on an E46 weighs nearly 50 lbs. The auxiliary stuff is probably another 10-20.

My recommendation is to just zip tie that stuff down until you're ready to gut and strip it down.

i'm not going to thin anything out at the moment. i do have some tessa tape in the mail to tidy the wiring up. i think what i'm hearing is the loose wires swinging around.

If/when you do start to thin wires out, just be mindful of what other effects may happen when you take things out!

I don't have any speakers in the car, nor radio, so I figured why not take the antenna module out as well. Long story short, the remote won't lock/unlock the doors anymore

Good thing it doesn't get driven anywhere

Before I thinned out my wiring I just used zip ties. Tie the wires up tightly to another bundle, out of the way and out of sight. Had no issues with things flinging around or making noises.

MSR Cresson 3.1 yesterday was a bit of a mixed bag. I had never done the combined/full 3.1 course before and probably didn't spend as much time preparing as I should've, but I left unimpressed and won't be seeking out any future track days on that layout.

I wasn't a big fan of the 1.3 back section -- the layout was a mess and it just didn't have a good flow like the 1.7 does. It felt cobbled together and technical just for the sake of being technical. I appreciate the fact they want to offer a different type of track to the 1.7, but there's a few sections that could've just been straightened out to let drivers get into a good rhythm. The elevation change adds a considerable amount of complexity with several blind off-camber corners. Thank God I didn't turn all of the electronics off or it would've been pretty ugly.

I won't even get into the issue of the red (advanced) run group having a couple of drivers with zero situational awareness that gave us trains of a dozen cars AND corner workers who didn't black flag them for not moving over right away. Surprised to see this from Edge Addicts as they usually run a tight ship.

Admittedly it's difficult to get into a rhythm on longer tracks, but when I look at another local track of similar length, Eagles Canyon, that one has a much better layout that I am excited to return to. Maybe I'm a little salty because I was still slow by the end of the day, but oh well. For now I will stick with the 1.7. At least it gave me a chance to finish off the R888Rs out back.

I have only run Cresson once and only on the 1.7 CCW. And I loved it. I have had no real desire to do 3.1. I hear great things about ECR and was bummed that the NASA event was canceled due to COVID.
