steering wheel wear

i have worn smooth a section where my thumbs go on the factory wheel with my driving gloves at the track. is this normal? or am i holding on for dear life.

IF the OEM leather wheel, try some leather cleaner and conditioner and see how that does. I have the PSWII and it has actually held up pretty well with some regualr (1/month) cleaning.

A good leather reconditioning can do amazing things. I saw my car before it got its CPO cleanup. The wheel was pretty faded and worn. Dealership had a leather guy in and it looked brand new at delivery.

You probably are gripping the wheel a little too hard as well. There's something about this car that makes it hard to not do that. I find that I catch myself death gripping at the track which was never an issue for me with my e46 M.
