Did you go as a student or instructor? I'm assuming instructor since you gave a ride?
Great pics!

I'll be there supporting some customer cars, I doubt I'll bring my E92 out for the DE though.

Well played, BMW CCA, well played.

Birthday weekend may convince me to go, but no way in hell if they're going to try to get me to buy a membership. They owe me a 1 year membership from the June event.

Does/can your shop fabricate a bolt-in half cage for E46?

Registered for Sat/Sun in the Advanced group. Looks like registration is open through the end of September for those interested.

I went in June. I have a lot of vacation days so it wasn't a big deal to make the drive manageable (3-days). Worth the trip.

Until then...

Bollocks.

I'm pretty sure the single day slots will eventually open up, will keep an eye out and report back here if they do. There is some hope yet!

Hey guys, shameless plug here, but if anyone needs some E90 M3 track goodies...

PFC08 track brake pads:
http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1298191

Or track wheels and RE-71R track tires ***SOLD***:
http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1297121

I can attest to both doing wonders at COTA from back in June

I'm considering buying an Xbox One, wheel/pedal setup, and Forza Motorsport 6 to learn the lines at COTA. Curious if anyone else has gone this route and if it was worthwhile?

Is the track on forza 6, that would be very nice.

So the cheapest setup I could find for this, old Xbox One bundled with Forza 6 is $229 and then a Thrustmaster TMX force-feedback wheel/pedal setup is $167 (Walmart pricing). Not bad for a makeshift sim setup.

That's basically what I have plus a seat. I used it to prep for WGI and got within 1/2 second of my best time on Forza.

I'm judging all of you adults for playing video games.

My brother has a gaming computer, so I purchased rFactor 2. Forza probably has better cars and customizability. Most cars in rFactor 2 are user created, so drivability of each car varies a lot. There is no E46 M3, and the closest car to it is a user-created E36 M3 in stock form, with no customizability (tires, alignment, spring rates, etc). There is an E90 WT(whateverthehell)CC that I was able to modify to make it somewhat equivalent to my E46.

COTA feels very realistic. TWS was made by a track guy in Texas, but it does not feel realistic. The corners seem very off, and track surface lacks grip. The same guy also made MSR Cresson, but I've never been there so I can't say anything about the realism factor. And apparently he is currently working on MSRH.

Lol, it's the judgement from my wife I'm worried about. When I come home with an Xbox and steering wheel, she's going to be all
