I think I like the "license plate on trunk" idea rather than on bumper.
or...
I am so used to seeing license plates on trunk on M3 rather than bumper.
anyways, cant rely too much on this magazine for some reasons.

Initially, I was all weirded out by the rear end and the plate being moved to the bumper. Interestingly, it is kind of growing on me.

As a side note, why do journalists insist on interspersing French words that often are wrong or misspelled. This may look impressive to some but it just looks stupid to people who know better.
I would push it to say it adds discredit to the accuracy of the overall information being presented. Indeed, clearly these journalist don't do thorough checks of their claims...

In the attached photo from the CAR article, "chez longue" should be "chaise longue", as in "deck chair"

I'm hoping the info regarding the plate location is wrong. I personally don't like the look of the plate on the bumper.

With that being said, I would bet that the plate will be on the trunk. Here's why... if they were using a different trunk, they would be testing it on some of the mules for aerodynamic purposes, but all of the mules we have seen have the lic. plate on the trunk. There's no way that they would do ALL of their testing with part A and then put the car on the market with part B when it's something that effects aerodynamic properties of the car. (This is pure conjecture on my part, hopefully we'll see the M3 concept in the Spring time and have the final answer)

it's always more expensive in British pounds and in the UK then US dollars and in the US because...

Economy of scale. The market of the UK is 60 milllion while the market in the US is 300,000,000. That being said...they need to make a bigger profit due to selling less units in the UK. Thus affording to sell the car cheaper for the US market because the market is larger and it sells more units in the US. Its also more expensive to produce cars for the UK because they are right hand drive. Cars destined for the US is pretty much the same to European spec except some engine specs and smog specs. And it is left hand drive like the rest of Europe and most of the world.

Cost per unit to manufacture is less when produced in volume. 48,000 British pounds in the UK is the same as $48,000 in the US. Don't use currency conversion as a benchmark but rather GDP per capita of each country. Someone making 100,000 pounds in Britain would make $100,000 in the US at the same job.

I think we will see 4.3 for sure. This is only magazine speculation. Others of us have done some calculations with hp/tq/weight/gearing and looked at the "marketing" requirements for the car. See a good discussion here: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13252

I don't like the turbo!It's a gay boy's porker for someone who want's the power but nothing else!The GT3 is a man's car

But if you want to give me a turbo for a month till i try and disprove my theory.........................

Oh ic, a second hand GT3, now I get your point. Good choice though, love the new 997

Let me think about driving my turbo, give me a call end of this year. I am waiting for some investments to pay out within some months and I am also in the market for a new car

But you can't have m for a month! A day maybe...

No problem, but I think Teasers aka hooters is a better place to show the cars

Last year I drove a Gallardo for one day, it was a remarkable day, that's what I call a pussy magnet first class

Decisions based on Photoshopped pics

Its hard to beleive you all are making purchasing decisions about the new M3 without seeing the finished product. These photoshop pics are just some dude's imagination.
