Thanks Vince! my old E46 ZHP actually was sold to a gentleman name Brett. He lives in your neck of the woods, (Gainesville, GA).

I'm awaiting swift springs and vorshlag camber kits to arrive.

Reminds me of the early-mid 1970s! There were many fantastic trails, riding locations and dirt roads all around the lake back then for dirt bike fun. Mainly the area in the southeast section on the Buford side like where they built that water treatment plant off Buford Dam Rd -- it was a blast to ride in the huge dirt bowl they created for the holding area. The process was slow, so it gave us months of time to ride in there on weekends. We even carved out an MX track that lasted for about a month, lol. Fun times!

Not to steer off the original topic at hand, but this is too funny.

I grew up off of Shadburn Ferry Road (intersects with Buford Dam Road) back into the peninsula there with the Shoal Creek boat ramp and the campgrounds. We were one cove over from the water treatment facility that you're talking about. As kids, we lived for the lake, drank the lake, and after a hard wipeout breathed the lake unfortunately I moved off to North Carolina for school, bounced around for a while, and ultimately decided that I needed more lake and moved to the north side (since the north side of the lake is about as calm as the south side was when I grew up).

To give you an idea on how much we loved the lake and hoping to never forget those days, I present to you the only tattoo on my body. The group of us that grew up together (friends since 5 years old and still to this day), got this stupid tattoo since we all grew up off of Buford Dam Road. As you can see from the picture, I spent many a day sun-burnt.

LOL! My parents had a house on the other side of the cove from the Shadburn Ferry Rd side. It was on Lakeshore Rd which at the time was all dirt except for the u-shaped section at the lake that was paved. There were no other roads connected to it then, and between the paved section right at the lake and Buford Dam Rd there was one house and one farm. When I visited that area 6-7 years back, it was shocking what's happened.

If you went to NC State for college, this is going to get even crazier.

Talk about small world, wow. You should see it now even compared to 6-7 years ago. Lake Lanier Islands is effectively its own city.

No, no NC State for me. I bounced around and ultimately got a degree back here in ATL however many years ago. I hear that NC State has a decent engineering school, too Finishing up another right now. I wouldn't mind checking into NC State for their MIE program, though. One step at a time.

I haven't exactly decided yet due to the conflicting thought process: The frugal in me wants to go Swift, but the track guy in me wants to go Ohlins and sacrifice EDC.

Give up the EDC. Most M3's don't even have that option and therefore don't miss it.

# Liquid Gold replacement
After 3500 miles, the car decided to complain that it is a quart low. Rather than fill up another quart, I figured let's do an oil change.

Thanks to FCPeuro's lifetime replacement, this is the start of the oil changes that will only cost me time to pack the oil and ship out a USPS flat rate large box for $18 to FCPeuro!

#Post oil change cruise
Since its Labor Day in the states today, few friends decided to go on a cruise.

It was fun!

#Teaser
Suspension is coming soon!. I hope to get it installed the last weekend of the month. If not, the 1st week of October.

Well, since I haven't received all the parts yet, I'm not where you are just yet!

# 2018-09-17 Update

I was about moments away from ordering Ohlins Road & Track coilovers when some minor chit chatting with friends reminded me that I had a few resources I should talk prior to this purchase. During those conversations, I ended up realizing I probably will not be happy with the Ohlins on the track and probalby end up with swapping spring rates. With a few phone calls and a wonderful discussion about suspension dynamics, I decided to go for it.

The configuration is as follows:
MCS 2WNR dampeners
Eibach 2.25" 400/700lbs
Eibach Helper springs
Vorshlag Camber kit
Ground Control rear articulating spring perch
Bimmerworld Endlinks
Powerflex Street/Track Rear shock mounts

It is safe to say that I ended up paying a little more than I originally planned with the Ohlins but I'm pretty sure I am ending up with a hell of a suspension setup. With the square 18x10+40 BBS GT4s with 15mm spacers, inner wheel clearance would be very tight with the ohlins. Going with MCS and 2.25" springs should increase the clearance so I don't have to change my spacers out. Either way, I bought 20mm spacers in case I do need to.

The picture of the front setup just looks so lovely.

The GC rear perches are being dropped shipped to me due to some delays in manufacturing. For now, I'll get to view them in the garage and admire how
pretty they look.

Oh and random pic of the beluga whale in all of its AWD height glory.

Wow derbo

I don't speak suspension, but that looks like a hell of a setup with a ton of adjustability. How did you come up with all that?

Plans for brake upgrade? Or just stock upgrade?

I spoke with Wyatt at MCS and ended up with this configuration. It will be freaking amazing.

For brakes, as an intermediate solution, I'll be going with PFC direct drive rotors and pfc11 pads all around. If it isn't sufficient, I'll look into other options.
