Knew I saw one for sale in the article in BMW Car magazine - given the ROE with the pound to the dollar could be a good time to buy....

why exactly? the crt is just an overprized e92 nothing special. it has frozen white lack and about 15 kg lighter as normal e92. same bullshit as the m4 gts. the CSL on the other hand is way more legendary. thats the car you want

Some people prefer the E9X M3 over the E46 M3 (I know I do a thousand times over).

For the record, the M3 CRT saves 45kg (99 lbs) vs. the standard E90 M3. The CRT was not meant as some sort of track day special as that's what the M3 GTS was for. So no, it didn't get the M3 CSL's legendary cardboard floor; In fact, the CRT had a full interior, A/C, iDrive, and leather. It represented the pinnacle of the Jekyll and Hyde personality (daily-driver with racing blood) that is the M3. In addition to the weight savings, both the E9X GTS & CRT have displacement increased to 4.4L (S65B44) which ultimately became the base engine for the Z4 GT3's P65B44. So, not only did the CRT act as a showcase for BMW's best technology in a limited edition special, but it (and the GTS) also enabled BMW to fulfill FIA homologation requirements that allowed BMW Motorsport to use the 4.4L high-rev V8 in GT-series racing beginning in 2011, an improvement from the 4.0L P65B40 based on the standard S65 used in prior seasons. But of course, none of that is special at all.

My two favorite special edition M3s. Nice pice!
CSL didn't get that either-- that was just something Clarkson made up.
