I know rite? they have the biggest panel gaps and nothing lines up from the factory. some people just think they are anal about cars. I work in the auto body industry, and after looking at endless amounts of cars, i can see every defect in my own cars to the point where i have come to expect it.

The gaps on my E85 Z4 and E46 M3 were terrible, and my E90 isn't much better. My dads brand new E89 Z4 has very poor alignment from factory. The drivers door had to be completely realigned at the dealer shortly after delivery for its poor fitment. |

I had been contemplating selling my 2009 E90 with ~140K miles. Seeing cars with under 100K miles listed that low made me decide to keep mine for a few more years. |

I purchased a 2008 e90 M3, slick top, manual with 58k miles and as salvage title for $12k a couple months ago so a very similar deal as you. Was front right collision similar to yours. Been doing all the maintenance (brakes, fluids, etc.) over the past couple months...so far so good.

Here's a picture from the day I brought it home! Need to get some better pictures after a good wash, but I feel like it's rained here everyday for 3 months.

Great looking car and great price! I almost exclusively buy branded title vehicles. If you know what to look for there's really nothing to worry about! And I've never had trouble getting full coverage insurance.

i disagree, if you paid on the low low end of value ($12k), then come time to sell shouldnt be hard to get close to what you paid.

I dont think it will be to bad of a hit. I could part out the car and could possibly recoup close to what i have invested in the car so far. |

What information do you have about the impact that caused the car to be totaled? Curious of the extent of damage the deemed it so.

While I’ve tried to stay away from salvage/rebuilt title cars, they can be a great value if you know what you’re dealing with and/or you plan on keeping it for a long time so the value doesn’t matter much to you.
One thing to consider, as these cars get older, it’s easier for them to get salvage titles from insurance claims. A slight front end collision where the bumper, headlights, and fenders get damaged could easily cost 50% of the value of the car. Which in turn, raises the values of cars without accidents and clean titles.

would it handle as nice if anything repaired wasn't 100% to spec? Something like a frame or something that is not 100% in line with factory.
