I believe just got scammed

Do not send money to username Darekr or the number 8305073857 or the email danielkatenas@yahoo.com.
Claims he doesn't have paypal and only has zelle. I sent him a payment and the next day he asked me to send him an additional $200 dollars for insurance.
That raised a red flag for me. I looked at all his post and he seems to have spare parts for every type of car. He hasn't started an originally thread on his own. And just posts on other people's post saying he also has the parts.

Sorry, this has happened to you. If the seller has no rating (itrader) and very little post I would be on alert. Make him/her facetime you with the part in hand. Any real seller would not mind showing you the part for sale, I know I would not have a problem trying to set the buyer's mind at ease. It's most likely a google number. You can report issues to Zelle, not sure if you will get your money back but it may make it harder for him/her to scam with that number. Do you mind telling us what you were buying.

Yikes, sorry to hear about that.

I always ask for Paypal invoice, that way paypal will always help you in getting your money back.

If they don't do it, don't move forward with them.

I quickly look at his profile before I bought it and saw he had 25 post. I saw other stuff for sale but didn’t realize at the time they weren’t even this threads. I tried to buy an Arwon gauge kit which is discontinued. If anyone has one please let me know.

You may want to look at one of these. Right now I have the We Engineering installed. I love it. I also have a Data display that I haven't installed just yet. They both are newer than the Arwon and do more. Just a thought!. I text the guy that scammed you to see if he was selling what I randomly needed and he was. I will screenshot our conversations and post it, it looks like he is definitely scaming.

Search "Ak Motion" display. I got both of mine from Germany, I did some searching on the Facebook group and found a guy selling them. You will be lucky to find one stateside so I would look at some of the german pro shops. I would use a VPN and tell it you are Gemany, that's the only way to find shops that sell them.

Sucks me for also getting scammed by this guy... I filed a dispute with my CC company and it sounds like I can get some of my money back. He posed as the wheel seller and I was careless to get suckered in so the joke is on me I guess. This type of experience leaves a bad impression on the rest of the members which is unfair. Since I've also had very positive experiences with other members, I'll be sticking around for sure. Hope others will get their money back.

Always a good place to start, but scammers often change their usernames or e-mail addresses. I've posted several WTB threads in the past though, and what happened sounds like very standard scammer behavior.
