Wow...4 days, that is a long time...

When my sales guy called me on 1/31 he seemed antsy to get a order in, he said he called the people before me (im #7 on the list) and people passed on ordering. He said the spot was available for M-DCT, and it was my turn to either order or pass. So im guessing last day for M-DCT orders that wont be affected with delay was 1/31...

My exterior/interior color change took less than 48 hours to appear on the OC site.

yea OC is updated every 24 hrs. But transition of 111 Order Accepted at AG to 112 Order scheduled for Production still wont be immediate.

Oh, I get what you mean now.

I just left a lovely VM in my salesman's inbox. Basically it says "Thanks to you not understanding the difference between a sedan and a coupe, and your decision to RE-ORDER the coupe vs CHANGE the order for the sedan, I get to wait another 2 months for my car. I'm now reconsidering whether or not I will accept delivery of the car as it is outside of our agreed upon #2 slot scheduled for a Week 10 production. Call me if you care."

Update: Just checked the Fax of my "new order" which was complete literally the next business day. So, if there was a cut-off, it was February 1st and I missed it by one day.

The bad news is that it doesn't matter whether or not the dude fucked up my order because he probably doesn't give a shit who buys the cars since all he is doing is order taking right now. Therefore my odds of getting anything in exchange for the dealer's mistake are slim to none unless I bitch to BMW NA - which I fully intend on doing.

Mine was accepted status 111 on 1/31 with both M-DCT and 19"s. I questioned my Sales guy about a delay and he responded with this: "I miight know a little more about the 19" wheel problem. After ordering another M3 today the order slot that had been 112 switched to 105 status after we put the 19" wheels on it. It would make sense on cars that didn't have 19" wheels would get pushed back if they are added on after the wheel crisis developed. Your order slot always had the 19" wheels so it hasn't been affected. None of this is BMWNA sanctioned so I could be wrong, but the change in status makes me think this is what's going to happen." Just passing on his response to my inquery.

I appreciate the insight. Hopefully I get a call back within a reasonable timeframe. I have less than zero patience for incompetency for way more miniscule things than $75,000 vehicles, so at this point I'm borderline irate.

Sounds like we are in the same boat. There seems to be no rhyme or reason in which BMW is giving people M-DCT or 19s. Doesn't matter when you ordered, what slot you are in, etc.

$20 bucks the concierge service at AmEx Centurion can get me an order in today with the exact car I want. That is Plan X.

Hahaha. Nice. Can you fix my production date as well please ;-)

Ironically, I just sold my E46 M3 today. Looks like I'm going to need a bit of a stop gap.

probably didnt cancel teh order for the sedan jsut changed it. if there was a production slot avalible it shoudlnt ahve changed weather you modified your order in 111 status or 112 status. if your production number allocation was set and sedan or coupe are valible for that build then it woudl make no difference.

All orders place between that gap still have production dates way past yours.

So, I got an update from the sales person - and an apology which was nice. The production week went from 10 to 13. I'm looking at a late May performance center delivery. 3 weeks I can live with. Crisis solved.

That's strange. So if we all start yelling at our sales guys, we can cut down on the delivery time, too? What is the basis for all these quoted times anyway? I am somewhat frustrated with my sales guy as well since I really had to drag the estimated production week out of his mouth. They just seem to want to hedge for some reason. I understand they don't want to make a promise they can't keep, but that doesn't mean they need to be tight lipped about things either. Anyway, glad you got yours move to week 10. I'm sitting on week 11.

Yeah, I mistyped the last sentence. What I meant to say was that his original posts says he went from week 10 to 16. So it seems that by getting mad at the dealer he's pulled back 3 weeks.

I just called to see if I got pushed back, since I hadn't checked in a couple of days and I'm still week 10, I asked him about the availability issues of the 19' wheels since I have them on order and he hasn't heard anything yet and that my week 10 has been like that since the 29th of Jan, so first week of March it is for me

I also asked him if IB/FR could be configured and he said yes...hhhmmmmm

No, I just pushed until I got the actual week rather than his guess. He said that my delivery originally was pushed back 6 weeks (mid/late June). I left him said voicemail, and he got an update and it was actually mid/late May. Sorry for the confusion.

F***... I just got off the phone with BMW NA 2 seconds ago. I went 111 on 1/28 and had an estimated Week 10 production. I am now week 15 producion. He said it was the 19in and M-DCT that was delaying it. That pisses me off so bad.
