The "bad" only comes with installation IF you have a larger oil cooler or intercooler, like me have the AA sc kit. I have a much larger intercooler and piping down there which gives you less than zero clearance.

I had to do some of my own "fabricating" which meant removing the rubber and cutting down the plastic pieces with a Dremel so it was flat/flush. Lastly I had to go buy longer rear screws bc I just didn't have the shear force while lying on the ground to push the tray up. Using the longer screws as leverage I got the tray flush and replaced with the shorter screws one at a time.

To reiterate... great product!

Is there any way you can have the modification performed before I purchase it. I have a AA supercharger so I would need it to be modified to work. Please let me know.

I sent you a PM. I can't "pre-modify" them without having the car here to fit to. I can ship a tray with the sealing strips unattached so you can either leave them off or cut them more easily as you deem necessary. Interestingly, I've had follow up notes from some other buyers with AA/ESS/VS SC setups who didn't mention any modifications were needed.

I think some cars just have installs that cause parts to sit differently. Maybe tweaked or bent brackets? Its the same with stock setups. I've had to bend the low-hanging oil pipe upwards on some, some others clear by a mile. It proves that every car is slightly different and is why we don't pre-drill every hole.

PM me to purchase

I may be buying one of these in the near future. My next planned mod is H&R springs, and I have a feeling my felts are gonna get clobbered to shit.

Quick question; this install looks like it has extra pieces added on on either side of the main duct. It's occurring to me since the panel is flat, without those pieces the tray would have openings there that could potentially scoop debris into the engine bay or bumper area. Is there a way to add on these extra pieces without the brake ducts?

Here's without. The bumper's main curve seems to leave these spots open, I'd rather plug them up like the OEM tray does. The main duct up to the oil cooler and radiator is the only opening I'd like to have.

There is nothing to block off that area unless you fabricate something like those brake duct plates in that photo. There is no harm in leaves and such being "scooped up" into that open area, as anything will just blow through and out the bottom of the engine bay. The area behind the bumper is open to below and aids in exhausting hot air from the engine bay at speed.

Does anyone know what size self tapping screws I can purchase for the rear of the OEM under carriage tray? Mine seems to be missing a few. Thanks!

deansbimmer I've had issues with my fender liners fitting correctly since purchasing my vehicle second hand. I understand this may be a deeper issue than just replacing the under tray but in your experience will this help button up the front bumper/liners a bit?

Thanks

Yes you may have deeper issues but the tray secures the bumper cover and fender liners together. Since you drill the holes for the screws during install it allows for a little bit of wiggle room if the car was rebuilt at some point and things don't line up as well as before.

I actually just installed mine and I didn't like how the fender liners stuck out slightly, even with the L-brackets pushed forward as far they would go. So I instead installed the L-brackets behind the fender liners and tucked the liners in front of the brackets such that looking inside my wheel wells you can see the alum L-brackets at the bottom of the wheel well, but the fender liners are nice and flush!

I didn't bother to drill into the L-brackets either because the fender liners are so stiff that it feels like there's no way they'll move with how tight the L-brackets are holding them in place. If this were to become a problem though I was thinking I could just use a nut & bolt to attach the liners to the brackets, since the self tapping screws wouldn't work with the liners tucked inside the L-brackets.

BTW, the undertray is awesome. It took me a few hours to install because I took my time but it was really easy with the provided instructions. It looks so much better to not have my ragged felt and plastic undertray hanging down anymore!

Having installed a few of these on customer cars, I will say it is amazing how different each car is. No two cars have everything in exactly the same place. It's the reason why the installer is required to drill the final holes.
