M3 v8 harder than a stick f80

Good morning every1
Had a few races with a friends m235i with jb4 and downpipe on map 6 and 7 and I easily opened up on him. I also raced a stock m240i and I killed it by bus lengths.
The worked m235i has sat with the m3 f80 up until 5th gear and I have raced a f80 om a 800m and I was about 10 cars in front cause he messed up the start and he had cup2 tyres while I was on crappy bridgestones.

My car has a 100 octane file with supporting mods except for the pulleys. If I race again should I pull a f80 from 1st gear or from 2md gear? What are your thoughts or was it luck on all my races

You car is fast bam. Straight line with buddies M235i ends up fairly equal maybe a tad ahead for the M3. Both cars has 4.7s to 100km/h so makes sense.

Garage List
the F80 when launched properly will destroy e9x, but the problem seems to be getting traction

from a higher speed roll, the e9x generally has the advantage

Actually an F80 really shines at higher speed rolls. The F8x is lighter, has about 70WHP and 170WTQ more than an E9x, it also traps nearly 10mph higher in the 1/4 mile which is a good indication of higher speed roll performance.

As an owner of both models I don’t see any scenario where if both cars were driven correctly would the E9x have any chance at any speed against an F8x.

are you serious? even a FBO m3 100octane file wont beat a stock f80 rolling or from a dig? how difficult is it to launch a f80?

2nd 45-50 is really strong for us. F80's are a tough kill, my car is fully catless, carbon roof gintani e85 tune (stock pulleys and intake) and I beat an f80 m3 45-140, past 140 he started to pull on me. We did like 6 pulls so pretty good standpoint on power levels. Any type of 1st gear pull is good as well if you can catch traction. I don't like dig racing as there's way too many variables that come into play, not a good way to tell power levels imo

holy crap are you serious? so imagine you do pulleys and intake you will extremely strong. how far ahead were you at 140? was the f80 completely stock?
I seriously need to get a e85 tune

I was comparing stock for stock, once mods get into the pictures things can change of course.

The F80 on stock tires can be a handful because of the huge amount of torque, with good tires it launches as hard as my old STI off the line. DCT + Launch Control + Good tires = Great traction off the line

Manual F80s will be slower and more difficult to get off the line because they lack launch control, from a roll they are slower as well.

I was about half a car to 3/4 of a car in front at 130-140 and then he was even and started pulling past that. I suspect with pulleys and intake I wouldn't continue pulling on him but I think that half a car gap would stay the same until 160. I have a couple videos of the races I'll try to upload to YouTube and post on here. Stock vs stock though there is absolutely no way an e92 m3 will win to elaborate on the other post about that.

I would love to see the videos! So if you had the pulley and intake you would about even with a f80 which has a jb4 I would assume. Didn't you ever pull with a stock c63?

Nope any type of tune on an m4 would demolish us. I've ran a few tuned M4's and they pull a bus on me easily, no way pulleys and intake would help me to that extent. I have ran a new c63s and I lost by about half a car up until 160. They're quick, I believe I would beat a new c63 non s though as the s's have a bump in power. I can pretty easily beat the w204 c63's though and about even with one that has a tune on it.

Non P31/507 you mean. No way a fbo e9x m3 is beating a stock P31/507 c63.

Yes, I'm talking about earlier years and regular models, not special editions.

P31 it would be close. I have raced a tuned C63 w204 (with cats) with my FBO E92 M3 and it was pretty much identical, he maybe had a bumper on me from 50-140.

Indeed. I've owned an F82 DCT, driven the manual a few times, and both will definitely beat an E92 at almost any speed, if the F82 is driven correctly. Sure, the manual is a little slower, and you need to be in the proper gear, but almost in all cases, the F82's torque overwhelms the E92 at all speeds.

I own an E93 right now though (happily sold the F82), and I love it. Don't want another F82...waiting for the G now.

Was looking at the "g"... glad to see BMW finally making the giant leap to looking like an Infiniti G-35...

I'm actually thinking of buying a nice e92 to replace my F80. I mean, the F80 is fast, but there is a special place in my heart for the V8. I haven't really driven an e92 in years though, so I guess I better test drive one. That being said, which do you enjoy driving more?

Both amazing cars and I thoroughly enjoy owning both, totally different personalities. With that being said, whenever I'm driving my E92, I miss my F80 but when I'm in my F80 I don't miss my E92 so much.

I guess that points to me enjoying the experience more in my F80. The steering feel is awesome in the E92, revving out that V8 is very visceral but nothing tops the precision and power of the F80. It's just so brutally fast and accurate plus the driving position and tech is on a whole different level.
