"BMW will only manufacture the M3 GTS to order and sell it at about €115,000 (US$170 614) per unit."

WTF ?! better not be that $ price.

You can't just to simple currency conversion.

It's always difficult translating prices from Europe to the U.S. Nevertheless, the M3 GTS will sell for 115,000 Euros including a 19% VAT, or the equivalent of about $171,000. A more apt price comparison -- assuming the M3 GTS makes it to the U.S. at all -- would be using the assumption that the car might sell for the same proportion above the regular M3 Coupe as it will in Germany. That would place the M3 GTS' price at about $98,000.

I said that a bazillion times before in this thread and say it again, M3 costs 90,000 euros in Germany so that makes the GTS about 27,000 euros more expensive than the standard M3.

90,000 euro converts to $126,000 US. Does the M3 cost $126,000 in the US?? If the answer is no, your comparison is completely invalid and irrelevant.

"Hand-built to customer order, the GTS is said to weigh just 3285 pounds; for reference, BMW says an M DCT–equipped M3 coupe carries around an additional 419 pounds."

So it looks like the 3285 lbs weight figure is indeed according to DIN standards since that is what BMW compared it with for M3 DCT, which includes a 180 lbs driver, full fuel tank and some luggage in the trunk. It is more likely to be under 3100 lbs without the driver and the extra weight.
Yes, it's 3285lbs according to DIN, but DIN does not include driver and extra weight.

For this reason, the above quote from C&D is wrong, and the difference between these models is 'only' 110kg or 242lbs.
(E92 M3: 1,600kg or 3,527lbs; E92 M3 GTS: 1,490kg or 3,284lbs)

Best regards,
south

in the second video (PART 2 - 4:04 min video)

At 2:36 min, the front tire is like wabbling / looks weird.

Is this normal?

Closer to 30K according to my sources.

Now that price is for the short block 4.4 liter engine only.

The heads, throttle bodies, and all drive accessories are of course extra.

Now all of that is moot, because these limited production factory 'strokers' will be guarded better then the Crown Jewels.

I can already see some resourceful BMW enthusiast (with more money than sense), thinking he can acquire one of these engines...without the proper documentation or sending in a rebuildable core.

that last video is KICK ASS!
i'd take a regular m3 just because of that video.. wtf! I can't wait to see how it performs against others.

this is the m3 specs I wanted. The last gen M3 kicked more competitor ass than this gen m3... now with this GTS... i am satisfied with this gen m3 line.

bravo BMW

It's not the car guys...it's the uneven rumble strips that makes up the inside curb of the actual race track. This is done to keep drivers off the curbs and on the racing surface. These rumble strips are designed to slightly destabilze your car, which encourages the driver to stop riding the inner curbs so much.

There is nothing wrong with the wheels or tires on the GTS.

Thanks for posting the videos South.

They look rather uninspiring to me--even amateurish. They have done much better in the past. BMW needs to learn a few things from Porsche about marketing. They should visit the Porsche website and check out their videos for starters.

speaking about the price, M3 GTS is in the porsche GT3 range, but it has the performances closer to GT3 RS!!!
so, i wonder, why are so many negative comments against it?!
the regular M3 is a fast car and has a lot of features for comfort! M3 GTS is a hardcore version for the track fun....
i think bmw took the right decission to buil it!!!

actually after i read, i can live without GPS, but no air conditioning? and no music? i cant live with that!

although the car is definetly designed for one purpose only, i would squeeze the other ways of driving it out too, but cant be done without a minimum of a radio

Ouch Lucid...

Are you a professional Videographer, or have you ever studied Cinematography by any chance?

What are your specific criticisms about the M3 GTS videos posted?
