Just saw that also, pretty sweet. Hope they do the front quarters as well. Could almost go all carbon exterior with the parts available on the market (besides the bumpers)!

The Conti ECF is very attractive as an HPDE/practice tire for when I don't want to burn up a Hoosier. Looks like it can also handle moderate water so I won't have to drag along a second set of tires if the weather looks iffy for a DE weekend.

I went with 35 hot front and rear. Was just guessing as there isn’t much info out on these, but it worked well for my setup.

Removed passenger seat for lightness. Reinstalled and now airbag and seatbelt light won't go off. I cleared codes using AMS app but still on. Help? I have a BT cable.

It's pretty easy to bend a pin on those connectors, I'd try unplugging and checking them. Also, you might try clearing with a BMW specific tool that clears all modules. I use a BMW Foxwell NT510, it works for this, a ton of similar obd2 scanners out there.

Yea, I hope to get some more wet days this year to test them. I love the wet. In the past year I’ve only had a bit of time on the A052 in the wet at GTA and shortly after, which was amazing when the water wasn’t deep, some damp mornings on pirelli dh scrubs, and one extremely wet and deep water day with the conti force on the 986. However, the 986 experience doesn’t give a good indication of their wet weather performance because I was running a square setup, and the original dampers on the car were worn out with the passenger rear being full blown. So the car was tricky to keep pointed the correct direction in those conditions, particularly during braking and corner entry.

Full tread A052 in wet conditions is like nothing else in the 200tw category. Really interested in how the conti might compare.
For some fun, here’s an old wet A052 autox day with my co-driver driving from last year:

Yep! I call your wet A052 autox vid with a wet A052 track vid. Crazy because there was more in it. I was being conservative.

real oem lists them at about 22lbs. if they weigh about a third of that, probably a savings of about 14lbs once they are painted. there is some tedious work involved though... that is probably $4k worth of work at a body shop for fitting and paint, and i think that is on the conservative side. my doors cost $2k for paint because there is a lot of prep work if you don't want pinholes.

Most reviews, as far as I can tell, are really reviewing the front tire. Rarely do I see a review that brings up the rear tire, and when they do it is in relation to the front tire. This is only relevant if you are willing to use 200tw tires from two different manufactures. In my case I have the 265/35/19 RE-71R for the front and The narrow rear V720 305/30/19 @ $245 might be an excellent match. Will know soon enough. |

Never really thought about tires on a per axle basis before. Different perspective.

Would competitive run groups allow mixed axle tires if they met class rules?

Maybe. But you want the best tires for the class and type of racing on both ends, so I can’t really think of a situation where you would want different tires in a race.
