Foot strength is an interesting thing in the world of running. Kind of OT but I tried running in a zero drop shoe. It does take some time to develop strength in your foot. Normal shoes nowadays are cushioned and prevent the toes from splaying when making contact with the ground. Definitely made a difference. Not sure if these are the right muscles for Motorsport. Interesting take with the fitness solution. I’ve had to start working on neck strength for driving so I’m not a limp noodle at the end of a track weekend. My regularly car pulls over 1.3g and I’ve been up to 1.6g…it wears you out.

I'd like to upgrade to bucket seats but prefer to retain the Scroth QFP harness. Seems I'm limited to Cobra Nogaro and Recaro Pole Position ABE as the approved aftermarket seats. The Recaro seats look nicer and the Cobra seats look like a marginal upgrade over stock. I'd like to try out sitting in bothfirst which may be doable for the Cobra seats but not the Recaro ones since they're hard to find.
Any drawbacks to either option?

I have the nogaro and aside from thinking they can look a lot nicer than the recaro pp when you get them finished in alcantara and/or leather, I find them to be a major step up over the stock seats in terms of support, while still being quite manageable to get in/out.
With a thinner butt pad specifically used for track days, as well as the relief molding for the sliders they can get pretty low while retaining oem power sliders if you wanted (I did). |

Pole Position is probably the best bucket if you just want to use it with a 3 point belt and have the extra support from a bucket but from a proper safety perspective it's a terrible seat when setup for harnesses if you have any kind of tall torso/overall above average height. The harness holes are simply too low to be configured safely. This isn't' the only seat with this issue but it's a very popular/common one.

If you have wide shoulders you should sit in them before buying, only caveat.

Forgot to mention I ordered my Nogaros from Demon Tweaks in the UK to save some money. Did no logos and black stitching instead of contrast to blend in better (OE+), these are freebie customizations. Only risk is if some kind of warranty/quality issue, shipping back and forth wouldn’t make much sense. I also had them send me photos before shipping them over to make sure the customizations were done right.

Does anyone use the valve stem cap TPMS sensors for track days? Wasn't sure what people's thoughts on them where - I'm not sure I like the idea of them opening the valve the entire time but then they're also threaded so as long as they seal I guess they're ok. Any thoughts?
Also, I assume there isn't an aftermarket receiver that would listen to and decode the OEM tpms signals? Once I get a dedicated set of track wheels I'll probably go with aftermarket TPMS sensors and work on an over all data collection strategy. Just gotta get the boss to approve funding |

Ah good to know, thanks! I knew they weren't too fast but didn't know they can be off. I'll wait until I get my track wheels and go internal TPMS.

Trail brake.com has a very accurate and internal or external cap option. Note it’s a CAN signal and thus intended to feed data to a logger. Thus no display. I have it as do others and it’s super reliable.

Do you have this integrated into an Aim product? Was looking into this, the Solo2DL is pretty capable with the CAN expansion hub.

You can then do some fun shit in RS3 building tire profiles. Still messing around, but for example looking at Gsum relative to pressure and temp. Set alarms on the dash to “green light” tires are up to pressure or temp, or overheating. Here’s an example of a profile views I was playing with. GSUM and Cumulative Gs through lap. Idk?
