I'm an OSH kinda guy, I'm really spoiled though in the East Bay as there's a few industrial supply shops nearby along with Grainger which is awesome but reaaaalllly expensive.

Fastenal is probably better and cheaper. My go to is McMaster-Carr. I have an account with them which saves me quite a bit.

McMaster-Carr sells all of the weird stuff too. I got replacement sway bar link ends for the BW end links. Upgraded to a better quality eye bolt which has lasted much longer.

Man, its been a while. Last track day at a local track Eagles Canyon Raceway.

I corded the outside tire though, so I think I need to rotate more often as my 2 favorite tracks are hard on the outside right. I was over a second up on later sessions but with so much traffic, I couldn't get a clean lap. Time for Time Trials!

That's great to know, I also replaced my SPL bearings from an industrial supply business. I think they were FK brand, have you found higher strength or more durable bearings than what SPL offers? (I believe they use FK).

Aurora rod ends are probably the only one I know that is slightly better quality than FK.

Really expensive and hard to get.

I’d have to know more about the specific bearing. In my case, I used a PTFE line rod end which is holding up much better than the Teflon lined BW ends.

But McMaster sells stuff to industry so they usually have quality from crap to high precision on most things. IMO, definitely the way to go if you understand what you need.

I've waited a year for the Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3s (non-r) to get back in stock for OEM staggered sizes with no luck. Going to see if the local BMW dealer can get a CCA discount on the install of some of the 240tw Pilot Cup 2 Connects.

I'm not jumping to a 200tw just yet since I have a feeling they'd put too much heat into my stock rotor setup. Finding a street tire with a high heat ceiling is a tall order.

Might be better off with one of the longer lasting 200tw "Enduro" options, treadwear rating has become fully disconnected from tread wear lol. Look into v730, RS4, NexenSport-R for something with equal/better performance, 50% the cost & similar wear if you can't find the Cup2s.

I wouldn't mind going with an enduro 200, would they fit stock rims? I remember looking into RS4s and they weren't a direct fit for the OEM stagger. One of my reasonings for the PS2 240 is that it's the OEM fitment on the M2 CS with the same stagger and sizes. The ECS 340tw I've been running gets greasy mid session at VIR for me.

EDIT, the Yokohama ADVAN NEOVA AD09 might be another good one.

OEM stagger in 18 or 19s? RS4's would be the way to go for a long lasting tire that doesn't grease up easily and is just nice to drive on and off track.
245/40R18 & 275/35R18 if you got 18s - yes rear is slightly shorter, but you'll get a free gearing advantage.
245/35R19 & 275/35R19 if you got 19s. Slightly taller rear, but I don't think it would cause any issues?

They'd be the 19" 220m set, so pre-comp cars upgraded wheel option. If the RS4s fit those, that'd be great. Only thing would be finding a shop willing to fit non-exact sizes on the rear.

This Savage Geese video kinda put me off running RS4s year round though, which is what I'm looking at. Probably what got me looking at the south of 300, north of 200 tread options.

I don't want to derail the track chat. I think we had a tires thread awhile back I can find.

Awesome, will be sure to say hello! Also have a garage but not sure which yet. 2 GT4’s, blue and silver, and two m3’s, white and blue, in ours.

Teflon is just DuPont’s trade name for PTFE but yeah, there are different quality rod ends out there.

McMaster or Fastenal higher end stuff is definitely the way to go. Too much counterfeit crap out there.
