springs questions
when changing the springs on my 330, i had to get new bushings and eventually had to change the rear shocks... any of you who bought the H&R springs for the e9x m3 upgrade the shocks and bushings as well? i know coilovers is the ideal way to go, but springs are a great and MUCH cheaper alternative... ALSO, adjusting the head lights after lowering your car? anyone encounter this pain in the ass problem? thanks

From my research, if you go with "sport" springs which are easy on the stock shocks, then you should be ok for a very, very long time.
If you go for the "race" or stiffer springs, then your stock shocks will wear out much faster. |

If you are upgrading the springs, I recommend swapping the shocks as well. If you do the H&R Sport Springs, you can go with their H&R Touring Cup Kit which includes the sport springs and matched shocks.

I personally prefer a proper spring and shock combination which comes from a coilover. I have gotten feedback from one of my customers with an M3 and the H&R sports - he hated them. Said the bump steer was really prevalent, and the handling deteriorated in his perspective. Keep in mind he races regularly - hence why he quickly went to Motons. It was a temporary solution for him, I think thats what it is for most owners. A decent way to drop without spending a whole lot.
