Blown motors, Rod Bearing failure S65 Registry.

Leaving aside the cost of defending a litigation here in the US, what did BMW do to fix this issue which showed up many years ago?
Did they modify the design to circumvent the issue?
Did the solution work or is the design simply cannot be changed without significant costs?

I know they took out the copper/lead material and replaced it with something else. But someone said that was for Saving the Earth.

I was just captivated by the beautiful sound of the naturally aspirated V8 ... I guess misery loves company?

No - met one guy at a car meet on Sunday who's engine spun a bearing and the owner of VCM in Victoria got a car from Vancouver with a spun bearing to rebuild.

If I get any more info, I will let you know.

Even more interesting is what about those cars that have this issue but are out of warranty?

Surely, the engineers in Germany have a solution.
But, I think the politicians in the Company will not allow the solution to flow out.

If BMW comes up with a solution, that means there was a problem. Hence why you will never hear of a solution from BMW unless they are forced into a recall for safety reasons.

So brutal. The car is awesome, but BMW has lost me as a customer for life. My car was SC'd too so I know there's no warranty regardless, but it also blew totally stock at 25k miles and BMW covered it under warranty. The fact that they refuse to do anything about this out of warranty is just absurd when it's so clearly a major problem with this car. At least Porsche stepped up and did the right thing with the 991.1 GT3 with the 10-year/120k engine warranty. BMW just gave us all a big middle finger instead.

Yeah. I searched also , I saw he posted only 19 times from 2015 till today .
