Thanks!

So, my thermostat is sticking and my idle is acting crazy sometimes. I ordered a new idle control valve, thermostat, GT4 water pump, CSF radiator, hoses, sensors, belts/pulleys/tensioners and will be replacing plugs at the same time. I'll be going to COTA April 7-8 so I'm trying to get everything dialed in before then.

You haven't done your throttle body actuators yet, correct? I didn't see any mention of it being done in the thread earlier. If you're about to tackle the ICV, I would certainly encourage you to do the two throttle actuators at the same time, provided the funds were available. It is a mildly time-consuming task to get into the vee and grouping the work together makes for a better life after

Previous owner claimed to have done it 500 miles before I bought it. I'll see if they were actually done when I do the ICV.

Warpig12354 single best rags to riches thread along with EnVe46 thread. If I can add, many of us have found that the fluctuating idle has been caused by the breather valve. It's funny that a lot of members suggest that we don't buy cars that have a story, well in your case you obviously didn't listen to that advise. Luckily you saved the car from a worse tale. Can't wait to see your COTA race videos.

Thanks for the shout out! Warpig has done one hell of a job on this build and it's extremely rewarding to be us watching. If he's anything like me, an instant gratification person, I'm sure he's basking in all his glory!!

Thanks! You nailed it right on the head with the instant gratification personality

Ended up ordering 2 new throttle actuators in the event they weren't actually replaced.

You see Ivan, we can make this related to M3, because Ferrari has 3 Rs, and the letter R is in the alphabet so this is still related.

Switching to PFC08 pads for the track. Anyone who says these are streetable are crazy! Sounds like a UPS truck every time you use the brakes. Also ordered aluminum shift paddles, Rogue Engineering rear toe arms and Hankook RS4s in 265/35 and 285/35. I'll be back at COTA May 5-6.

Oil change after about 800 miles on the rod bearings give or take, still looked new.

Track was incredibly dusty and did a number on my fresh new bumper and Turner skid plate.

Maintenance I should've done before the weekend but didn't have time.

Hot damn this is amazing, man. I just now realized you're the tech who did the oil change on my F150 at the independent BMW shop not posting the name in case there are weirdos reading)! I noticed the wag a bag photo and shots of the shop and was all "hey, I know that guy!" Hit me up any time you are down for a cruise.

I haven't run into you around the neighborhood in the M3, but there are a few around these parts.

Any new progress on the rebuild?

This is comparable to adopting a dog which was neglected and chained up to a tree it's entire life. Now this pup has been re-homed and given the opportunity to reach it's full potential!

Great progress bringing this car back to it's initial glory.
