Update: from M3 to Boss 302 w/ some mods

Used to be very active on here when I had an M3, now I just observe from a distance. But lots of people on here had shown interest in the Boss so Ill post info here and there.

Ran a 1:35:00 (Big Willow) which I improved from a 1:37:3 on the stock Pirellis. My timing didnt work in the beggining but my buddy ran 1:33:7 (modded Evo X) and I was on his *** so I think I pulled faster than the time I recorded. The tires completely transformed the car. On turn 8 I usually enter around 120mph but the speed scrubs off to 114ish and I managed to enter a little above 123ish and stay at 120+ Better everything! and lots of the M3's at the track are running these.

Car has developed a rear window rattle and tranny is the weak spot

Here are some pics!
(car has sway bar, springs, wheels and tires)

okay just thought it was weird since the point of his thread is how the tires transformed the car.

Just what I have done. Sway bars, wheels, and will put in ssk. Some people have had other issues with the Tranny but its nothing major. I consider the 6spd the weak point in the M. I hate that shifter, the Boss's feel better but some have experienced lockout and I get grinding into first sometimes.

wow looking at your past cars this was a huge downgrade. Car is sick as fuck tho! why not do full coilover instead of springs?

haha..I love all cars and I have a ton of fun in this. I drive my buddy's modded Evo on the track as well and I fucking LOVE it.

Ford Racing makes the springs I'm on to work with the stock shocks, hardly drops it and are a bit stiffer. Maybe I'll do shocks at some point, didnt want to spend a lot of dough

I like it. How have your dealings (if any) been with the dealership? They understand and expect that you'll be tracking the car? Ford really seemed to market the Boss as a track car -- wonder if that attitude followed through to the dealerships, service departments, etc.

BMW puts the M3 on track for their marketing purposes, then their dealerships treat you like you're nuts for using the car in that capacity (in my experience anyways). "I can't believe that you race your M3."

RS3's transformed my car as well.

havent run into that. my SA seemed to think it was quite normal and has done some of the work like stainless lines and high temp fluid change at times for me.

I wish I did. My driving keeps improving so hard to compare but I don't have track times for me in those cars but I do in my c63 (previous car). I ran 1:39 at big willow in my C63 P31 (stock everything). In the boss I ran 2 seconds faster while stock.

I haven't had to take it in for anything so hard to say yet. I hear they are typically pretty cool. I have no engine or exhaust mods so that will Prob help.

Smart getting rid of those heavy ass Boss wheels. Looks great...I don't know why they kept the MT82 when the Mustang already has the Tremec from the GT500 in their arsenal.
