Looks like there is confusion between Monte Carlo and Estoril Blues...

Picking the color can be the most daunting decision when ordering this car! Depending on my mood, I sometimes wish I had MR, or Alpine White or Silverstone II (even if it is to greenish for me) or... but, fortunately for me, 99% of the time I am extremely happy with my choice.

No offense, but I did not dig Interlago. Le Mans or Monte Carlo would have been a 'May Be'; I also wonder what the car would have looked liked in Laguna Seca Blue or HellRot like the e30 M3s...

Estoril Blue is not coming back to production cars ,
it will be available as a special paint and you will pay a premium for the finish. But Monte Carlo Blue will be seen as the Official BMW M Blue for the time being.

well i guess that's decided then. so Estoril will be a US $5,000 individual option, and monte carlo will be a regular selection starting in 2010?

So Monte Carlo will probably end up replacing Interlagos next year, yeah? Probably at the same time as the E92/E93 LCI (March?)? I suspect that is what is in the cards. Maybe Lemans will also go away too. This would all be fine with me - the fewer cars out there in my color the better, I say.

It's good to hear that Estoril is making a return (if that turns out to be true) but with Monte Carlo being quite close in color (in pics, so far anyway - no one has side-by-sides yet), I can't see paying $5k for the priviledge to get the former.

Doesn't sound like Estoril is going to be available...

Here's an email thread between Dave (of BMWSOnline.com fame).
Seemed a wee off, as he states EB is "no longer available" (uh, yeah, no kidding). But he claims to have spoken with Individual today (not sure if there is a delineation of any importance between M GMBH and BMW Individual)... Oh well - Santorin is pretty cool - but F*** the 5gs for it... Although....

thread starts at bottom...
--------------------------------------------------------

Rich,

Here's the latest. Estoril Blue is no longer available. They can offer the Santorin Blue as another similar option. If you choose to go with Santorin Blue, the pricing is the usual $4550 wholesale / $5000 retail. I provided a pic.

I know it may appear that way based on the post, but my information came directly from BMW Individual today. You have to take a lot of the posts with a grain of salt. That's why I only post info on the forum when it comes directly from BMW. It reduces the amount of misinformation.

This new blue looks to be closer to Estoril than anything else. Not quite the same, but similar.

Yeah, that's Monte Carlo - someone else also posted the pic a ways back in thread.

We definitely need some side-by-sides with an MCB M3 and an Estoril car (maybe an E46 M3 Individual) to see how close the two really are (or are not).

This has FARKED me off big time. I was haggling with the BMW Product Managers about Estoril Blue and CLEARLY at the time they where working on it but all I got was Environmental BS we're never going to do it. WHY O WHY O WHY do they do this shit.

Here is the best picture of Estoril Blue that I've ever seen. Its my old E46 and I took the picture its a perfect representation of the colour. The other pictures in this thread do not do the colour justice.

I would have loved EB although AW is till the mutts nuts!

Minie Estoril

The Mini comes in a color called Laser Blue that looks exactly like Estoril to my eye, at least without seeing them side-by-side.

It also look NOTHING like the colours previously posted as being the blue of interest. Is that the one that people are picking instead of EB?

I hate in the E9x. It's way to bright and dull looking IMO.

love/like classic.

I didn't know you could get Laguna Seca Blue on a E92 M3. Is it offered as an Individual color?
