If you can put it back to stock and get ~$31k for it that's probably a pretty fair deal.

If you don't have recorded proof of the bearings being done, it's as much of a red flag as not being done at all honestly.

Cars with secondhand engines also generally will fetch lower amounts.

Could you maybe get $33-35 if you spent a lot of time and answered a lot of questions? Maybe, could always list it and see but just a question of time vs money.

If you want to sell the M Performance exhaust let me know.

I'm mulling moving on from my E90 M3 and looking for thoughts on the value of the car since it has some stories.

Quick specs:
2011.5 E90 M3 Sedan
6MT
Jerez Black
Black Interior
Premium package
Technology Package (EDC, iDrive, PDC, alarm)
Cold weather package (split seats, ski bag)
Moonroof
Premium individual sound

Condition:
60.5k miles on chassis
~72k engine miles, RB replaced but poorly documented
No accidents
Paint and interior is in decent-to-good condition
Car has never been tracked, but has seen a lot of autocross
Limited mods: M Performance exhaust, M Performance steering wheel, OEM F10 M5 lighted ZHP shift-knob, Turner undertray, Dinan front sway

For the keen-eyed, the car had a main bearing failure at 54k miles and a replacement LCI engine was sourced and swapped. It has been on this engine for approximately 6k miles since and running great.

Given the stories and relatively common spec for an M3, it's not a collector, but a good driver someone wouldn't be adverse to putting in a lot of miles. It's a track build candidate as well, but not the greatest spec to start.

I have online dealer offers on-hand of approx $28.5k. Removing the minor mods as a "part-out" that the online dealers don't consider would net another $3k or so. Would the community see this as a $31k+ car to make trying a private sale worth the hassle?

Thoughts? TIA!
I think the price range is fairly around 30k.. I am actually in the market for one and prices are all over the place.. the truth is if you find someone that doesn't care about engine swap then they may be willing to pay more.. this is what scares me about buying from a dealer. Imagine if you trade it in and dealer just doesn't disclose any of what you just did..

Given the spec, and M-Performance parts, and this current market I would say $35,000 wouldn't be too unreasonable of an ask..settling for maybe $33,000. The MPE & Steering wheel alone are worth a couple grand. Hopefully the engine swap was fairly well documented. But '11.5, 6mt, ZCP E90s are very desirable. I'm sure you could find someone who's looking for a well sorted, driver quality car that wouldn't mind paying in the 30s.

My 0.02.

Thank you all for chiming-in. It's not a ZCP car so by no means a unicorn spec. 6MTs on mid-to-late 2011's are harder to come by though. The parts like the E90 V2 MPE and dinan sway are somewhat uncommon.

The engine swap was well-done and well-documented. Anything the shop thought was even remotely questionable, like the starter were pro-actively replaced.
