My car is often jerky on a cold cold start. 08 manual trans. If I let it warm up for a minute or 2 before driving, it is smooth.

I wouldn't be too concerned about this .. cold start sequence and subsequent driving right after is a little finicky often. I believe it's best to start driving right after the revs normalize down lower towards 500 RPM...

Not sure this is related but most of the time when I go from D2 to D3 at a stop light I feel the car do a small jerk even though I'm on the brakes

What I found was after replacing the throttle body actuators on my aged car (mine had not outright failed/causing error codes), the jerkiness during cold start was much less pronounced

Check the fluid level. I'd be surprised if every single dct doesn't leak and most owners have no clue.

Pretty normal behaviour and I've noticed it's more pronounced when the car hasn't been driven for a couple of days. It's like the air has come out of the airbox during this time. I was concerned initially but now cannot be bothered. I've had the car since new - Sept '07 build.
