ESS SC Kits G1 Supercharger Upgrade

So ESS has the new in house G1 Supercharger and I was told we get an extra 50tq @ 1k rpm. - TQ is Unconfirmed

There's also a g2 and g3 version but require built motors with the top end at 1k whp.

There should be a retrofit kit coming soon to allow older kits to have the new system. The new SC is actually way smaller than the vortech.

Thanks to Jason @ Parts Score for showing me the unit at Bimmerfest 2019.

Does anyone have more info on this?

Emailed AJ @ ESS and this was the response

It will start phasing into various kits this summer. It is already in our updated N52 kit.
The big advantages is far less weight, less noise, and higher overall efficiency.

Yes, they will have more power and tq. Exact data on the S65 will be published once all testing is completed.

Currently installed G2 & G3 setups

Wow and here we were all let down thinking they just changed the bracket for the Gen 2 kit. Can't wait to see results!

Been keeping tight-lipped about this.

Already have a kit reserved for our car closer to release, this will be offered in conjunction with the current ESS VT1 & VT2 kits on the market today.

More info to follow shortly.

Looks very nice. Hope I can afford one of these at some point but I might have to settle for a used VT625 or 650 instead.

Is this new supercharger designed like a rotrex Supercharger from an AA kit with planetary traction drive?

Can't wait to see the dyno plot and what Ess plans for retrofitting the old kits. If this offers more torque down in the lower rpms I would jump on it. Been waiting for the Harrop stage 2 kit for too long.

Wonder if they will allow their customers to make the choice on their own to build their own motor or risk stock motor with bigger blower. Never understood why companies would stop the purchase of something if a customer is willing to take on the risk of motorblowing. Hopefully Ess will get away from that and allow the platform to progress though customers pushing their motors them selves.

Lowest common denominator. They sell to idiots who will trash them when the car blows up, despite disclaimers.

Sounds like it's time to switch.

Yeah that is weird. I can buy an 88MM turbo for my stock 2JZ motor but if it blows its my fault. I wouldn't go after the turbo company lol

No, that is different. No one is selling you a kit with tuning and standing behind the package in your scenario.

A better scenario would be for you to go buy a different supercharger for your ESS kit, fabricate the bracket and whatever else is needed and tune it. That should be fine with ESS since it is all your doing and nothing it supports.
