Exhaust Manifold to Cat

Hey Guys,

little issue... I replaced a part of my exhaust with the macht schnell X-pipe and it started clunking as I drove, I lifted the car and found that the right side (looking at engine bay) bolted connection between manifold and 'cat' is loose. (see image below).

Now I think I could fix some of it with a new gasket ring, but where do you get these? The second issue is... the flange on the bottom of the manifold slides up and down on the exhaust pipe, should this happen? The other one is rigid? Would a new gasket fix this issue?

Regards,

Nick

I believe what you need is the this:

2 x Gasket Ring for Header to Downpipe (PN: 11627830668)

It is shown in step 12 of the following write-up which I used as a guide. I didn't replace mine and all is good.

Make sure you tightened them enough as well, the bolt/nuts that join the x-pipe to the manifold may just be loose. Guide above has torque specs.

Maybe someone else can chime in and confirm.

It's highly recommended to use new gaskets when removing/installing the XPipe. Assures little risk of exhaust leaks when everything is torqued down properly.

One of the flanges is supposed to be loose, while the other is welded in place.
I would double check the work and assure everything is tightened/torqued as it should.

Best of luck!
