Isn't that essentially "waxing"?

Not trolling at all. Just rebutting your waxing comment.

Wax all set, just need to find a good tire shine...

On my 2015 f36, I have been using SHINE ARMOR Fortify Quick Coat. It is easy to apply, gives great results and the water beads on the car. Best of all, it lasts and does not break the bank. Here it is in Amazon: https://amzn.to/34LBd9Y

Now if I can only find a good lasting tire shine. I have used the following without great success. It just does not last for me despite the research I have done.

Meguiar's G7516 Endurance Tire Gel: https://amzn.to/3ad5Ki0
Armor All 78004 Extreme Tire Shine: https://amzn.to/3eoFjJs
Black Magic 800002220 Tire Wet Foam: https://amzn.to/3csYujD

Can you recommend a good tire shine?

I'm lazy now. I use a spray wax at every wash, which is every 2-3 weeks. Lazy.

Beads like crazy though even after 3 weeks between washes in the AZ heat. Less time, less elbow grease, and still works well as a sacrificial layer to keep your paint protected. Meguiar's, 303,, Mckees, Griots, they all seem to work well and paint looks good.

me too. I use the meguiars one.... hard to beat product considering, price, availability and ease of use. takes 2 minutes once a month or so. and it beads like crazy. car is 80% dry after easily blowing all the water off with a leaf blower. Their ultimate soap doesn't strip it either. best of all, it can be stripped easily whenever you want. unlike ceramic coating.

In no order of preference:

1. Finish Kare 1000 HP
2. Meguiars Ultimate Fast Finish (spray)
3. Swiss Vax - Best of Show
4. Angel Wax - Enigma

Some of my favorites.

I've never heard of people wanting to pay a mint for a pro to ceramic coat their vehicle, then want to strip it off.

Why would you want to strip a 4-5 year protective coating off of your car?

Ceramic Coating is just the way to go. I used to love waxing, but it just didn't last long. Ceramic just beads up like crazy depending on the ceramic you use.

P21-S twice a year, and Griots Best Show Detailer after wash.

Not on the 235, but use 3M (they own Meguiars) hand cleaner wax for swirls marks, machine wax works great with buffer.

I like being in my garage waxing...wife comes out and helps, we sip beer, great music...it is therapeutic.

Zaino for the fun cars for the past 15+ years now

Been using McKee 37's ceramic on the daily and it has been pretty impressive, consider it sees Ontario's horrible salty sludge everyday for 6 months

I started "waxing" my cars with TW hybrid ceramic coating. About a couple months in for one car, and a month for the other and still holding up great.
Washing is easier as all coated surfaces are still slick with good gloss. Inexpensive to buy, too!

I applied it on most of my GTI, but left passenger door with Powerlock+Collinite 845 combo. It will come out of hibernation when winter hits, then that can be a true test of the durability between the two different types of wax/sealant and coating.

Any tips for someone who wants to wax wheels to protect from track day grime? Ceramic coating is probably overkill and too expensive in my opinion. I was looking at McKee’s 37 ceramic sealant or anything similar. Any experience you want to share? Thank you.

That makes no sense. Pay a couple hundred bucks and get your wheels ceramic coated. I don't understand spending money on a sealant that is good for a coupe track days and then you have to re-apply.
