First time at COTA F1 track in Austin, TX

This was my first time at COTA F1 track in Austin, TX. The event was hosted by BMWCCA. I had to cancel last year due to our baby being born 3 weeks early. I made a few mods, seats, belts, HANS device, half cage and steering wheel before the event, and so I had to get used to a new car as well as a new track. Installations was done by Driver Source in Houston, TX and as usually they came through for me and did a great job getting the car ready before the event. This was only my second event this year after taking 10 months off because of the baby. I had a great time and hope to be back in June with Driver's Edge. Here is one of my videos from the second day after learning the track.

Looks like such an interesting track.
What is the yellow group? advanced? , instructor only? open passing?

Each BMW CCA has different classifications ( we do D ( novice), C, B, A , & solo)

Nice seeing you at the track again! But you've changed from super OCD to a virtual wreck (no pun intended). I've never met someone so disorganized!

lol...missed ya!

Lol! Thanks man! Nice seeing you too. You should know? That's what having a baby does to you. Hopefully I'm back until the wifey says otherwise.

COTA has good mix fast, slow, blind, off camber turns and elevation changes to make things interesting. The groups are Blue, Yellow and White. I ran in both Yellow and White the second day.

Nice video OP

I posted a track guide of COTA from the same weekend with pictures of the turns and lines drawn on them along with my video over here so I could remember what I learned for next time

Lemme know if you have different opinions about the various corners - seems we found mostly found similar lines

Yup. I was in the middle of changing tires and Sally was probably on track.

BMWCCA deleted the lowest group for this event, so only the top three groups ran. Some trains in blue and yellow. People were a little more on their A game in white and at least were giving points. In white we had open passing anywhere with a point except the esses.

Thanks for sharing the video. I'm trying to get mine synced up with the data capture on my cell phone but I haven't put enough time into it yet.

NP! I use Dashware to sync data from my Solo DL to my vids. It is a pain and sometimes I don't get it synched properly as some of my vids show. Good Luck!
