Man, I am truly envious! Our lives are pretty much about the 2 kiddos (5 years old boy and 7 months old daughter). Between the 1.5hr commute (each way) and working 10hr/day. I am lucky to have few hours to work on small projects!
We just purchased the house on the Peninsula 2 years ago so a project of this magnitude will definitely have to wait.
The wife wanted to have a pergola for the backyard! Got several quotes between $6.5k-$8k for a simple redwood 12ftx16ft, free standing pergola. I know I could get it done over the weekend with couple buddies but everyone is so busy. It is great that you are able to take these project yourself!
Can't wait to see the final outcome! Thank you for sharing.

I know what you’re saying, I have 3 little monsters, (7,4,3), under 2 years old is brutal. The thing about these projects is that materials are not that expensive, I went a little crazy on the pizza oven and the bbq, but the wood and stuff isn’t that big of a deal, it’s just the labor/time to get it done that is a killer.

Life is on hold if you have a kid under 2.

I have two friends who bought the 12’x14’ pavilion from costco, it’s like $1300 five or take $100, pretty sweet deal.

Looks great!!

I did our backyard a few years ago, moved over 100k lbs of "rock" that summer between a 70' x 5' tall retaining wall with built in bench, 1000 sqft patio, and outdoor kitchen. I did poured concrete counters too but did them in place.

Of all the DIY projects around the house, it's the one I enjoy the most knowing the summer I busted my hump getting it done.

Nice job, enjoy a beer out there!

Had a pretty busy saturday.

I got the counter tops in, I got all the fun stuff placed, I still have to do the wiring, and plumbing. I got the hole drilled in the top for the kegerator, I'll get it in place soon. I still have to drill a hole for the sink, but with the right tools, its not that bad of a job.

Wow, Great progress! Looks like it will be ready for Memorial Day Weekend

Are you preferring to the Aluminum one with roof? We have couple of those at work! They look nice but tend to get very hot underneath.
We have a very large window in the kitchen looking out to a beautiful garden view and don't want to block the view. I think a pergola with movable shade would work best for now!
I am definitely motivate to start my small project from looking at yours

Thanks. It will be functional by Memorial, but all the details won't be done.

Yes, and I can imagine them getting pretty warm on a hot day.

A pergola with a shade/screen would be great.

Not much new to see, but I got the BBQ and side burner hooked up and running. It required gas and electrical (it has lights and electronic starting). As a side benefit, I was able to plug in the refrigerator too.

It is, when I'm done with the plumbing and such it will be covered in travertine ledger stone to match wall around the pool.

Does anybody have a recommendation for a water filter system? I need to put one in for the ice machine I'm looking at the Kube

I use a Bulk Reef Supply RO/DI (6 stage, 150gpd) water filter system. I initially bought it for my aquarium, but I added a tee before the deionization canisters to go to my refrigerator.

More progress!

I got the water filter system in, the electrical is roughed in, the kegerator is installed through the counter top.

Ice machine is making ice, we had a party on saturday (96 degrees), we were shoveling ice out of it all day and it never came close to running out.

I also got the pot rack and the tv up.
