Difference between tune & piggyback, and warranty that would allow a tune?
I'm about to buy an e92 m3. But, I need to get it with a warranty and thus I can't really tune it. If I put a piggyback on is it untraceable, so they can't tell I messed with it so I can not void it?
I know dinan makes something like this but do you guys know of anything else? I'm wondering because I would like to tune for the benefits and also I plan to put on test pipes so it would be needed. Or is there any warranty companies you guys know of that would allow a tune like alpine mss? Thanks, Matt |

youre buying a e92 m3 with a warranty?
cutting the cats out with a extended warranty is sure to get flagged on a warranty claim, these companies look for any reason to not pay out. theres no piggyback tuning for the mss60 , only afd e85 flex fuel kit.

What the previous poster said ^
Honestly, I would not even waste the money on the warranty. Just save it up and use it when things do break. These are 9-14 year old cars...

Can you even get a warranty for a car this old that isn’t a scam?

a. Warranty on a 10+ year old car = scam. b. Tune on a BMW N/A engine=scam no.2.

I disagree with the warranty being a scam and would only buy this car with one. I spent $3500 on my 5 year $0 deductible one and it's already paid about $6,000 in 6 months on my 62k mile e92 (DCT Seals, Diff seals, Valve cover gaskets, engine mounts).
The Alpine MSS tune has changed this car drastically and I would heavily recommend it. |
