How To: Fix Aux Port (fell into center console)

I made a video showing how to retrieve the aux port, and how to fix it so it hopefully holds stronger (and wont fall in again!)

There's a good number of videos showing this but they only show how to retrieve the port, or how to rig it with a zip-tie so it doesn't fall in. To top that off, a lot of the cars were insanely dirty/cluttered. I figured I'd make it all in one, without a jerry-rig fix, and with a clean interior lol. Enjoy!

New to me is an e93 2009 that I just took possession yesterday, the aux usb panel was missing when I was looking it over yesterday. Need to look at it closer this morning to see if it fell thru. This is good info, thank you.

Did you end up finding it? I was worried mine was gone too but looked a little closer and it was buried in there lol.

Found it buried in there. But my center console did not give me access to the component so I had to fish it out with a Claw grab tool but first I filed one of the sides to make it a little larger, grabbed it with the tool then used a couple of hook pick tools to get above the hole. It was a test of patience, took about 1.5 hours of trial and error, in 95 degree heat.

This just happened to my wife's 2008 E91. I was able to grab it with forceps and a pick, and pull it back into place. Next time I will use your method and make a more permanent repair.

Seems to be a common thing, hopefully yours sticks into place but worst case there's always this backup plan haha.
