anyone familiar with newage garage cabinets?

(mods not sure where to put this, so going with general)

i'm done turning my garage from a pile of s**t to a place i wouldn't mind spending time and need some tool storage. a fair bit, actually. I'd love to go sonic, but that's more than I'm willing to spend. Looking at Husky cabinets and these guys https://shopnewage.com/collections/p...16013997342786

It looks nice, but wondering if anyone's got first hand experience with either?

I know it's not what you're asking but if money is a concern have you considered building your own. It can be a big task but it's relatively easy. Just a bunch of boxes with hinged doors, 100% customizable. I did mine for around $300 and I added a small wall of French cleats for easy access stuff like clamps and other wood working tools. All the cabinets are hung using French cleats as well so they can be moved around to my liking. You can get as crazy or as simple as you want.

Don't mind the mess in the pic, this was a jig I built for a custom foam/fiberglass boat I'm building.

I have some new age cabinets, pro series. I really like them. Only gripe is the plastic end caps fall off the handles and sometimes the handles slip down. I could glue them on if I cared that much I guess.

respect the skill, but i'd rather work on the car than the cabinets

did you get the pro or the bold? i'd prefer the pro, but the extra 6" of depth is actually an issue for me since they'd sit alongside the car vs in front and i'm somewhat width constrained...

I went cheap on my cabinets and got the bold. They suck. Super thin metal and quality is not there. Less than a year in and half of the doors don’t close correctly. I’d skip over new age altogether and go with another brand.

Although it's not their cabinetry, I recently installed one of the NewAge pro series floating shelves (8x2) and it had great instructions + feels very sturdy and secure. I'm currently trying to get my garage cleaned up and organized as well. Next step is the Rubbermaid FastTrack rails & hooks for all my lawn equipment!

Wow nice
I have new age cabinets, fast track for large items
In terms of new age- its not bad but if u care alot or tend to beat them up get ones with thicker steel. Mine are pretty thin gauge but havent had nuch of an issue

oh man. two conflicting reviews on the bold and that's what i ordered! i really don't want to give up 6" of lateral space, i feel like even though it doesn't feel like much it'll make working around the car tough... decisions decisions...

I looked into them and they seemed fine but I ended up with the Gladiator pro/premier collection, and am very happy with everything.

I got mine through Costco, the Pro version. I have them in a bit of an unusual place, the room next to my garage. Kind of an entrance side room to the garage. No complaints at all.

I needed some entry storage and places for my cleaning gear. One cabinet is totally car cleaning stuff.

looks nice!

i ended up ordering from them and getting the bold. i'd have liked the pro but didn't want to lose an extra 6" of lateral room in the garage. yeah, the walls seem a little thin on the cabinets but i think with shelving in place and mounted up they'll be fine. look nice, too.

Are you happy with the sturdiness? Some mentioned in YouTube they felt thin/cheap

i am, but they are. the sheet metal is thin, but it's not "this is gonna fall down" thin, and seems appropriate for the price point.

I'm happy with $3K all day for this

Personally, I've never liked the look of the NewAge cabinets. And I'm especially not a fan of the "toolbox" component. I think the US General toolboxes are a LOT nicer, and prefer the look of the Husky cabinets.

On the plus side, you're getting one single system. But the price is kind of expensive for what you're getting.
