pilots or poles
I am just wondering if anyone has experience with Potenza S04 Pole Position tires?
I'm thinking of moving away from Michelin which I've had for all of my ///M cars but the S04's are a lot cheaper (at least in Canada) and they come in GTS sizes ... any input would be appreciated!!! I know these tires have been around a while (I did the search) but things change over time and I look forward to your input.

I had S04 and currently have PS4S. Daily driving there is no perceivable difference whatsoever. Haven't had a chance to push the car much since I got the Michelins but I expect them to be better since they are the latest generation of the benchmark in this tire class. With that said, I never felt the S04 tires were lacking and I was quite happy with them. How do you use your car?

Canada has some weird pricing and Michelin PS4s will cost me about $600 a set more than the S04s ... and the GTS size 285/30/19 is not even available. My car is basically a weekend warrior for drives around the area mountains with one or two track days per year and the odd auto-x.

B-stone are pretty quite and comfort ride on the street n highway. it grips really well in the rains too.
My conclusion? The S-04 is great alternative to PSS if you are willing to give up a little in terms of ultimate handling and grip for a bit softer ride and lower price point. The S04 are no brainer. I have 11K on the Front & rear still remain 7/32 F and 5/32 R PS4S is an incredible tire. The outgoing PSS was already better than the S04 in most respects. I ran them all 3.

The SO4s are an older tire, they also have a much firmer ride than the PS4s. Some people like this, in overall performance the PS4 is a better tire. We are talking about a street tire here. On the street you would have to push these cars where its go straight to jail if ever caught to get to the max capabilities of these tires. The SO4s are also 4-5 lbs heavier than the Mich counterparts in both the older PSS and the PS4s.
