I actually run 335/30R18 right now on an 18x12.5 wheel in the rear, but HoHos are available in the 345 size along with RRs.
Yes considered the 345/35 Hoosiers - tall tire, not sure it will fit. Something we will look at when everything is back together - but I think the 335/30 will likely be choice for us all things considered.

The good thing about 315/30R18 is that it's a spec tire for a few series, so inventory and selection is plentiful...so if you can run that square, you'll be in good shape.

Cool stuff Jason, excited to see the outcome. A 12" square setup will be awesome if it ends up working out

Likely won't be running any series like that in this car. Looking at SCCA T1 being the only one that has a limit that will impact us - 11" front wheel max. Would run 11/12 315/335 in that case. But we have set the wheels up so that everything has the same offset so that we can easily run 11/11, 11/12, & 12/12. The yokos are the main driver for the 12/12 setup - but running 335 square in the hohos when we can could be fun too.

Likely its going to be a crazy hot mess of frankenstein looking body panels - but one way or another we are going to get some runs in with 12" square

Still waiting on the new radiator to be able to finalize the dimensions of the intake. Want to have it mounted in its new location so we can make sure the bottom of the intake clears the top of the radiator. Unfortunately there is a strange mixture of companies being very busy but also very understaffed around here right now with all the covid uncertainty - so taking a bit longer to get our hands on the radiator than we hoped. The plan is carbon fiber for the intake... I'll share the results good or bad

Looking forward to it! Back when I dropped out of the group buy, I emailed Ana and got some pictures of the prototype, so I'm happy to see you got your hands on it and are trying to figure it out

Certainly subject to change once we are able to start the fabrication - but I do not see any issues at this point that should create a design issue. Definitely have to do something with the radiator - and in our case wanting to try to improve the cooling as much as possible it made sense to go with a custom size radiator that was considerably shorter than the oem but still increased core volume by over 40% vs the do88 piece. The decreased height plus tilting the top forward should give us an unimpeded path back to the airbox with plenty of room to work in the filter & a restrictor plate that we will need if we run T1 in SCCA.

The issue I do see possibly coming up is the skill of the fabricator If that does become an issue will be looking to outsource it.

With just a tad bit more camber & a bit of finesse - think we might be able to come within a couple of inches of clearing the fenders

300/650 Yoko A005 on 18x12. Measures closer to 330mm though - they are big.

Supposed to be bmw cca club race at cota first weekend of October. Bit worried it’s not going to happen though - the attendance list is pretty low right now & could see any back to school COVID pop scaring too many away. Plan to be testing a decent amount at cresson oct-dec as well.

Cool, let me know when you're back at Cresson, maybe I'll swing by and watch.

Interior is looking sharp!
What are your next plans for getting the car out and shake it down again once it's all put back together? There will be a BMW CCA event in November at Cresson *hint-hint-wink-wink*

Thanks! Mix of Harris Hill (reopening in a couple of weeks!) & Cresson before the BMW CCA COTA race in Oct. The attendance list is looking slim for that one right now though

Is the Nov Cresson event not just race school?

I have a colleague at work that frequents H2R, I am hoping to join him out there once it re-opens too. I am also considering a membership.

Do you know what events you plan to hit at cresson? I am planning to get the rod bearings fixed and hit a track day while I am up there. Either ECR or Cresson

Definitely welcome to come join us on a guest pass one of the days we are out there as well. Usually try to go in the morning during the week - not much traffic to deal with. If they were able to fix the bumpys then it is actually a pretty fun little track to run around on - will know pretty soon. Once we finally overcome the urge to completely tear down my cars for months after every race we are going to be heading out there at least every other week (hopefully weekly).

Cresson will likely also be just on a member day too.

We are signed up for the BMW CCA races at COTA the first weekend in Oct if you were planning on heading out there.
