I will collect her today.

Hi friends,
finally she is arrived. I feel a little embarassed. For several months I wrote my thoughts on this Forum and now is the time to drive her. I don't like too much to show off myself..(it is not my character) and this is why I feel embarassed to give this new to this Forum. But I want also with this thread wish you to receive a very good new, from LA exibition...about the real price of the car for USA. I know how important is this for you, and I know that in this week this will be the main info you need to receive.More important that to know that my car is arrived... So good luck. From my side, after many years, I can say that I finally will get my little dream in my garage. Tonight for the first time.
I will post soon some pics. She will be AW with Palladium silver, a combination that not many will like, but that I have chosen after to have seen her in reality...I need for personal reasons to make the first 2.200 km check in few days, since I need to export the car next week (from Italy to Czech Republic). This means that I will be able to make notes about il consumption-fuel consumption and others.
Bye bye now

Good for you Savage, I have always admired modesty it's a rare trait these days. Anyway congrats and we look forward to hearing news and seeing some photos.

...Especially when concerning matters made overly-controversial by certain members of this forum (...steering, brakes, etc.).

congrats buddy. Enjoy her!!! Please send pictures of the roof. Specially from the inside too. I haven't seen any about that, or anyone saying what the material is on the inside of the car. Does anyone have or getting a moon roof? I can't decide if I want the carbon fiber or moon roof. any ideas?
Also no one said anything about the layout of the interior and the comfort of the seats. Does it feel cheap? How is the sound system and is it worth it to go with the up graded sound system? thanks for all your help in advance.. Moose

Sorry...I made some pics as soon as possible....

here are some pics. Short report for today and some thoughts:
1)fuel consumption: good compared to my Audi S4. More than 8,5 km-Lt in the same driving condition that it usually takes to me 7,7km/Lt with the Audi.
I am sure that after 2-3000km it will be better and that (not driving all the time in the city, sure) it will be possible to run a good 9 km/Lt. Try with the
S4 and tell me if it is possible...
2)no one problem during the first 700km
3)sound :very good and deep in my opinion (up to 5.500 rpm, notyet tested more than what suggested by BMW for at least the first 2.000km). You can speak with your friend driving in normal way but when you accellerate, the sound will disturb a little the conversation so I think that the car is very isolated from the outside noise, but still you totally feel the engine running and what you are driving. Beleive me. There are some range of RPM (5th gear 2.000rpm) for example that allow you to feel a very very deep sound from the exaust system. A more aggressive sound could damage a normal conversation also if I you don't use all the trottle.
So I think it seems a good compromize.
4)steering: good in sport set up. I like it. Less good in normal setup. Not for me this set up.But interesting to have it since it is light and could help during the driving in the city.
5)brakes :I think no problem of fading in normal use. Absolutely. They are progressive and with lots of power.
6) general opinion of the people : amazing car. I don't know if this is the typical Italian reaction (Latin) to something new and attractive. But I can confirm that it is impossible not to catch the interest of the people when you are driving near them....Probably the colour helps.I tell you that almost all the people will look at you
7) I like the seating position. No problems.
8) one interesting thing about the oil level. I remember a post where it was told that in the morning the car has shown no level or low level (I don't remember)of oil in the indicator. I tell you that happened something similar also to me. But what I want to tell is that the indicator needs up to some minutes to show you the true level of oil. You have to wait for. So don't worry if you see that the level is showing (apparently) the low low level, since near this level will appear a little clock and this means that the sensor is doing his job and will tell you in few minutes the true level. This is reported also into the operating book.I hope, that never I will report any problems in this area!!!
9)suspensions set up: the hardest one, the sport set up, is still very civilized. So I don't feel that a long trip with this setup will kill your back. My Audi has this problem for long trips.
10) trottle: I suppose that less than 1 cm of back pressure on the pedal gives you a cruise speed of 140km/h. Not bad...I mean that in the sport setup for the trottle, a very poor pressure of the pedal gives you a fast cruise. I can't wait to push full back that PEDAL...
More news and detail asap.

Those pictures really are amazing. I really like seeing the palladium interior through the glass on the AW. Gives it a very 'cool' contrast color wise. Looking forward to more pics and reviews.
