OP, please post:

- The full name of the person who took your money.
- The full names of other employees of the dealership with whom you dealt on that day.
- Details of who you were with, number of people with you, descriptions, etc.
- The exact date and time of your arrival and departure (as best as you recall).
- The exact date and time you handed the money over.
- Any other significant details we should know. Basically anything the police would ask.

To be clear, I am not saying you are making anything up here. But, you need to give us a lot specifics for this to become real, IMHO. And, if you want the help of collective community, you better be prepared to provide details and answer questions. Contrary to what some folks suggest, soliciting help from the online community can be an effective way to get justice, or at least some sort of relief. There are plenty documented examples out there, though none with stories like this behind them to my knowledge.

If you want help, that's your next move. Maybe someone who has friends or other ties to that dealership can help at least come up with a way to prove to the owner of the dealership that you are telling the truth. Maybe someone is or knows of law enforcement in the area that can help get some action here. Lots of other possiblities exist. But you need to articulate your story and get some buy-in. Otherwise, you are going to get nothing but skepticism and ambivolence.

The dealer/bank's last resort is to repo a customers car..They exhaust ALL and I mean ALL other avenues before doing this..with that said OP is obviously not giving the whole story here..

Yeah it's weird they repo'ed it in just one week. Also makes me curious about the story behind the 335 lemon.

Do they really take 3-4% on large amounts. If so, then hats off to you sir. I love these small sticking it to the man manevers. However, letting AMEX pocket 3-4% for doing jack is great for them. The most win would be telling the dealer your plan and having him split the difference with you!

We need a lawyer to chime in.

We're hungry for controversy here.

Could be.

Or it could be that the OP dabbles in some illegitimate activities and has realized that the average Joe on the internet is no less likely to ask questions than the police, legal counsel, or indeed the inidividuals he is accusing of wrong doing.

I didn't read everything lol too long

I also think it's stupid to pay with cash and not a cashier's check...
but...why does it seem that people feel it's illegal to carry cash?

$20k cash is actually not that much if it's in 100s (i don't mean the amount, I mean the size of the packet)
it's only 200 bills.
Now, if you were paying in 20s or smaller...yeah it's a LOT of bills to carry
but 200 bills can fit in an envelop....

Maybe I didn't completely understand what was going on since I didn't read everything... Just don't see an issue with walking around with cash. I try not to do it as it's risky (duh), but there are times where I have withdrew thousands from the bank in cash...

lol

I remember a friend of mine wanted to put his downpayment cash (I think it was about $10k and change?)

they tried to short him $200... he was like no... I counted that stack 20 times

so he counted it in front of them and they were like "oops"

Always cashier's check or credit card for me..

Cause there is a member who thinks it's funny to make tags about me.

I'm sure he gets lots of pleasure thinking it'll upset me

Curious to see what new tags will arise after this post lol

Funny, I never even noticed the tags until now... Who bothered to set "alpine white" and "bmw"!? They're about as useful as t!ts on a bull.
