Seriously though, I only wanted a bare-bones option. It's a toy car for me at the end of the day, and I really like to drive. I wanted something that is driver-oriented, less options to go wrong (heated seats, electronic dampeners, really don't like the dash layout with factory navigation, etc.), naturally aspirated with a third pedal, and could rev to the moon. Super glad the car looks good to boot. In love with the Speed Cloth interior. Seat configuration is much different and grabs a hold of ya.

Again, I'm not after it because it's a rare car, I WANTED the absolute minimum I could get in the car (aside from door count!). Super happy that I waited as long as I did for the right car.
Yeah, word! It wasn't because its rare, just that now that you can't get the e90 anymore, you appreciate the few strippers more and want to give Kudos to guys that ordered them that way so those of us like you can find one now.

I know I enjoy driving my car more because of the technological bits (DCT, EDC etc.), I think it makes it a better machine (aside from enhancing performance, especially in the DCT case). Why would a car with LESS features be so sought after?
NOT knocking stripper drivers or enthusiasts (stripper enthusiasts lol ), to each their own! Maybe it's the reduced weight, how much of a difference are we talking about?

Can any stripper people elaborate?
The cars will drive basically the same regardless of spec, which is what really counts. A 'stripper' has less stuff to go wrong, which as the cars get older is the main benefit. It will also appear less dated by tech. Only option which is somewhat rare and a genuine improvement is cloth seats, shame more cars were not specced that way! I'd much rather have the cloth seats in mine.

Speed cloth seats are standard....leather seats are an option at $950.00 or part of a group option!

H&R Street Performance. It's actually lower in the back now.

I didn't like the rake in that picture so I just went full low in the rear. Only problem with getting rid of rake is now the rear tires are more tucked than the front.

I've been watching this thread and have been searching for an M3 in this era. I happened upon not one, not two, but three within 300 miles of me. E90 Alpine with no tech, cloth, slick top, and the 6MT. E90 Jaerez no tech, slick top, cloth, 6MT. E92 Alpine, DCT, carbon roof, cloth.

When I found all of them I just kind of couldn't believe it at first. I love the basic part of these cars. No distractions, just the good driving parts and the driver, held in by cloth buckets and freedom. Thanks for starting this thread OP. I may just end up with one soon enough. I love my 6MT 228 non-M Sport. The basic feeling of the car is what makes me love it. The scream of the S65 is calling me though.

Mine:
‘09 AW E90 6spd no options no sunroof Speed Cloth

Bought this one after having an ‘08 with most options. I sought out the “stripper” for the more raw and engaging driving experience. This is my favorite car! I have every model M3 (except F80), an F10 M5, and some p-cars, but the E90 is easily the best. The best all-around car there is. Commute/family duty/canyon runs/track days... I’ve modded and personalized it in just about every way possible, so it’s no longer the unicorn stock stripper that is being discussed in this thread, but resale is not my focus with this car.
