335 to E46 M3?

Hi everyone. I'm new to the E46 scene but have been a long time member over at F30Post. I've been thinking of swapping my '14 335 MPPK/MPE for an E46 M3 and wanted to gauge people's opinion on the matter. Specifically this car:

Price is definitely a bit on the high end. What do you guys think of going from a 335 to an E46 M3? My nephew drives an 04 E46 M3 so I'm not completely unfamiliar with the platform, but any advice/opinions from you guys would be greatly appreciated.

Is it going to be your daily driver?

If it's a daily, I keep the 335. Hell, even if it's just a second car, I'd keep the 335. The 335 will feel much quicker, be more comfortable, cheaper to fix, and more reliable.

If you want something that feels special and own't be a daily, then go for it. But it's a completely different type of car, yes it's an M3 but because it's 12 years old, it isn't going to be a direct comparison to a modern car.

This car is overpriced for a SMG.

SMG in these gens weren't really good plus they are expensive to maintain. I would stick with the manual.

They are superb cars no doubt but NO, not a good DD option.

I have an E46 330ci for DD for reference.

I agree. I had a 2011 335i and e46 m3. I got of my 335i for a truck and only drove the m3 every once in a while. I liked driving the m3 but really missed the 335i feel of the turbos and comfort. I would keep both if you could. I sold my m3 and wish i kept both. So now im always looking to get back into both or getting an f80.
