Yes I tried to buy it the first time and the owner sold it, I️ then bought it from the second owner months down him owning it.

For those that care, I talked with our resident forum guru, SickFinga (thanks for your help by the way. You're PM box is full so I couldn't reply), in regards to stripper cars and their production count. I was surprised by the low volume.

Complete stripper E90 cars with zero options (no sunroof, no navigation, 6MT, manual Speed Cloth seats, no I-Drive, no ZCP, no EDC, etc.) had a very small number of cars made - Six in total it would appear if you include the one from 2009. This was a check against my build sheet with no options. Maybe there are a few more out there but they were delivered with a special shift knob or something

Quote:
1 Interlagos Blue
2 Alpine White
1 Melbourne Red
1 Jet Black (mine)

Those are all 2011 and all got Speed Cloth

There is one more stripper, but since it is 2009, it has a slightly different buildsheet (M Drive wasn't standard)

1 Jerez Black (euro delivery so it has first aid and velour floor mats)
It is also got Speed Cloth
Anyway, found it interesting that such a low number of cars were produced this way on such a mass-produced vehicle.

what option gives you the M mode button on the steering wheel? I don't have that either.

You would need the iDrive but you can retrofit it I believe if you don't have iDrivr

Very interesting. Probably cause most cars were ordered by dealers who load up options to make profit and cater sales to general public. I'd bet $100 bill that the six cars you list here were custom orders by either enthusiasts or frugal buyers.

Other cool combos I love and wonder how many:
1 - strippers plus DCT only
2 - strippers plus ZCP only
3 - strippers plus DCT and ZCP only

Mine was a 2011.75 with no options (no iDrive) and had the M button.

My guess is the former. It’s a very spartan interior even by ten-years-ago standards. Not much more money would at least get you something in terms of tech and comfort.

Makes sense. Buddy of mine in college - we called him the Spartan - all he did was lift, run and eat. M3 Spartans - no extras allowed.

Btw - any thoughts on what replaces ur E90?

Man, I think about it every day. My “unicorn” was a forever car with a spec that took three years to find. It’s a shame that a careless driver took it out.

Right now we’ve got a few cars in the garage, but none of them have me itching to randomly go for the keys. There’s a list of candidates, but either a DCT E92 or 6MT E90 find themselves as a great, if not better alternative each time. We’re potentially going to build here in Florida. If we do, then I’ll have the right garage and I may go for a kit car to keep me busy even.

Short answer is I think all the damn time on what to do, but I keep finding myself circling back to another one. Who knows

Does anybody know how "stripper" an '08 can get?

I'm looking at an '08 sedan and from the VIN sheet, it looks like the only option is extended Napa leather. It has power seats, but nowhere on the '08 M3 brochure says that power seats are an option. Things the car doesn't have: iDrive, sunroof, EDC, fold down rear seats, power folding mirrors, heated seats, bluetooth. Is this as basic an '08 can get?
