UPDATE 3/11/13:
I paid EAS a visit over the weekend for some power/cosmetic mods! I picked up an Akra slip-on, Macht Schnell test pipes, and matte black side gills. All I have to say is WOW! The sound of the Akra is amazing, not to mention the added power from the test pipes.. And on the E90, the black gills are a must have, they look way cleaner than the chrome OEM gills against the black honeycomb. For installation and customer service, EAS really hooked it up. They did a very good job of aligning the Akra tips, checking the test pipe clamps for leaks, and doing clean and quick install of the side gills. I couldn't be happier with the outcome. I drove all the way back to the bay area last night and there is literally NO DRONE with this setup at cruising speeds (passengers could sleep, I could hear my music, its all good!). Cold start is a little bit loud and bassy and drones, but I'm ok with it. Once the cycle is over, the idle is barely noticeably louder than stock. Once I put the windows down and step on it, I can immediately hear the difference in tone. Also, I can feel the extra power in every gear and across the entire RPM range. Now on to some pics (no video yet). Thanks again EAS! |

I haven't updated this thread for awhile, but I've done a few more upgrades to my cars in the past month.
I recently installed 17" APEX ARC-8's on my E30 and I love how they look! I went with the direct fit flat face wheels, but I may upgrade to the concave versions in the near future. In addition to looking awesome they are very light as well. I believe the 17" ones are around 17 lbs! . I plan on getting GC coilovers pretty soon to bring the ride height down to where I want it and to get it ready for the track. Here's a quick beauty shot at the APEX warehouse in Livermore: Shortly after installing the Akrapovic slip on exhaust on the E90 with CF tips, I really wanted a CF diffuser to go with it. I went with the Vorsteiner Type II, and I really like how it hides the Akra tips just enough so it's very stealthy. I love the look of it and I was planning to extend the tips out a touch but I think I'll leave them as is for now, what are your thoughts? I also took the car down to EAS to get Macht Schnell Underdrive Pulleys, Coding, oil change and alignment, and the results are... WOW! The pulleys definitely pack a punch in conjunction with the MS intake, track pipes, and Akrapovic slip-on. The entire RPM range does feel much more potent when you step on it, and I'm very happy with the pulley upgrade. Tom at EAS definitely knows his stuff when it comes to coding the E9x M3. He upgraded my software to 240E, Euro-MDM, Euro-DCT, and all of the conveniences such as DVD in motion, comfort access window controls and auto folding mirrors. I just wish comfort access cars could unlock all of the doors when the engine shuts off but I am really happy with everything. Euro-DCT allows super smooth downshifting compared to the US version and it also saves the last used DCT setting on startup (i.e. if you shut the car off in S5 it will turn on in S5 mode as well) which is very convenient. I haven't gotten to test out Euro-MDM yet but I will be taking the car to Thunderhill next weekend and I'll post an update following that. In the meantime, here's a new(ish) video of the Akrapovic slip on with the MS Intake and MS Test Pipes, but no pulleys:
