help <gap between taillight & trunk>
hi. i had my lci lights installed n just realized i had gaps between taillight and trunk on the right side. The big and small light housings aren't flushed either like the left side. it seems like it's the trunk that's not properly aligned/mounted or factory defect. Does anyone had similar issue like this? is it something i can claim warranty for? TIA.

You can move the lights to correct the alignment by adjusting the screws that are holding the lights in place. It looks like the screws were just tightened down without making sure the alignment was correct. Should be a 5 min fix.

I tried adjusting the taillight housing by loosening the 3 screws then align it the best I can. Still couldnt get a perfect fitment because of the terrible panel design. I had to sacrifice 1 of these 3: top, bottom & side, with a bigger gap around the housing to get minimal gap on the other 2 |

It's taken me a long time to figure this stuff out, don't look too closely. Otherwise, you'll drive yourself crazy. When I think all of the stuff that could go wrong driving in Houston (besides fitment and quality issues) I want to leave the M in the garage; which of course is the craziest decision of all since it is a car.

Yes, and it's not just the M3. At first I noticed the gathering of drunk sheet metal on a brand new M3 in the dealer's showroom, both me and my friend were like WTF???
Then we inspected every other car in the showroom, ALL of them had misaligned headlight + fender + hood, or taillight + trunk. |

Curious as to how exactly you did this. I've noticed the fitment is not good in the front area. And when I put my painted kidney grills in, I noticed the front bumper cover screws were not tightened down. This made me think they were supposed to be that way from the factory to allow things to have some play in there? That said, I snugged them up when I put them back in. So did you just loosen them all and try your best? Or did you have a more calculated method to doing this?
